Three years ago, we (Michael and David), met for the first time and began playing music together in the Chattanooga area, quickly becoming the best of friends. Since then we've been steadily discovering how our diverse musical backgrounds of fingerstyle guitar and traditional mandolin blend to create our own unique style. Recently we have been developing this style by composing instrumental music and performing locally. Now, the two of us are excited to have the opportunity to share our music on a broader level by recording a full-length album of original and traditional duets.
This January we will be heading to a professional recording studio in Chattanooga where we will work with engineer Preston Parris to cut, mix, and master the record. The two of us are excited to be recording where we first met and began playing together and can't wait to get started. But we need your help to make this album a reality.
There are many expenses that go into making a professional album--more than we could hope to cover on our own. That's why we've launched this Kickstarter Campaign. We want to partner with you--family, friends, and fans of the guitar and mandolin--to make this record a reality. We can't accomplish this without you.
With your support, the money we raise will help fund all of these production aspects:
Studio Recording Time
Studio Engineer Time
Mixing / Mastering
CD Package Design
Any additional money we raise will also be put into the project towards marketing the album and funding future tour dates.
*However, if we don’t reach our $8,500 goal within 30 days, you won't be charged for your pledge, and we won't receive any of the money. If this happens, no money will change hands, our project won't be funded, and we won't be able to make the CD or send you any of the rewards.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
1. PICK A REWARD BUNDLE TO SUPPORT OUR PROJECT: Take a look at the reward bundles we have on the right side of the screen. To pledge for the project, just click on the reward you want and follow the instructions to back our efforts.
2. GET THE NEWS OUT: Help us spread the word about this Kickstarter project through Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Emails, Phone Calls, Text Messages, and by Word of Mouth. We need your help to raise awareness for this fundraiser if we are going to reach our goal.
Risks and challenges
In spite of any challenges that might arise, both of us are committed to working hard to assure that this project will be successful. We can’t wait to share with you the music that we have been creating. Thanks to so many of you for encouraging us as we have pursued the development of our music. It would be an honor to have all of you join our team effort to share this music by supporting our project. Thanks in advance for your interest and generosity.
All the best,
David and Michael
