About this project
We recently completed filming on HOLLYWOOD HAWAIIAN HOTEL (!!!) and are currently embedded in the painstaking process of polishing it up and getting it out to all of YOU!
That said, putting a film together costs money. Our Director (Joey Ally) and some generous friends tied to the production fronted all of the initial costs of making HOLLYWOOD HAWAIIAN HOTEL (mostly on credit cards...) - those people have now reached the end of the proverbial credit rainbow. Even though this was a little indie short, it was and is important to us that each member of our production and crew, many of whom are friends, be compensated for their time and contribution. Recouping funds will help us repay our investors, pay those crew/production members who are (being lovely and) waiting to cash their checks, and get to the all important last steps of post - sound mixing, music, color correction, etc.
By raising $25,000 through KICKSTARTER, we can pay everyone back and finish the film. Any money raised over our goal will go toward festival expenses (so you can see it on a big screen near YOU), and paying the people who worked on the project for free. With the support of our team, including our lead actors Sarah Ramos and Ian Harding, we believe we can make it happen!
Plus, if you contribute, the moment we finish the edit you'll get to check into HOLLYWOOD HAWAIIAN HOTEL from right there where you're sitting - please join us in bringing this little story with a big twist to screens big and small, and thank you for dropping by!
Risks and challenges
We have the full support of everyone involved in the film from the Director (Joey Ally) and Producers (Peer Pedersen & Jonathan Caso), to our lead actors Sarah Ramos and Ian Harding, and our Executive Producers Lynn Shelton and Megan Griffiths.
That all said, we are barely into post, and the challenges associated with producing a film worthy of your eyes could prove more daunting than anticipated. Our post team is scattered - our sound mixer in Seattle, lead actress on the east coast, and director/editor in LA - meaning that things like A.D.R. (re-recording dialogue in the aftermath to better fit the edited film) could be difficult to keep to a minimal timeframe simply due to the fact that the data itself will have to be sent all over the country.
Also, while we know we are making an amazing film, we cannot ensure that festivals will feel the same. We'd love to promise you that you'll be able to see HOLLYWOOD HAWAIIAN HOTEL screen near you. Being unable to, we can at least promise that the final product will be sent to you, with your contribution of $10 or more, so that you can watch it in the comfort of your own home!
All this said, our team made a film, and while we cannot project an exact end date, we can say that we're going to finish it! Oh, yeah, and obviously we're also really, really, REALLY, really really excited to send you your rewards. Largely because we cannot wait to see HOLLYWOOD HAWAIIAN HOTEL T's and Tanks walking around on real live kickstarter buddy bodies!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
