Please tell me something or give me my money back, 10 month waiting !!

    8. Mike Patterson on February 20, 2013

Thanks for the helpful reply. I'll look for the glue and fix it myself. It seems like it's not that complicated. Is there a version 2.0 in development?

    9. Isaiah Coberly 2-time creator on February 19, 2013

      Mike,

Sorry to hear about the delamination.. A few FlipSteady cases didn't get enough glue in the first production.. You can send it to me and I'll fix it or you can get a small can of 3m Super77 and glue the piece back in.. The spacing between panels is about 1/8". Find something 1/8" thick to help you space the part relative to the neighboring parts and you should be fine.. If things go wrong and you need to take something apart you can release the glue with vegetable oil, clean the area with dish soap to cut the oil, let dry and try gluing again..

      I hope this helps!!

      Thanks,

      Dear Isaiah,
I've enjoyed using my Flipsteady case for the last several months. Unfortunately, yesterday a piece of aluminum fell out of the back of the case between the linings. It looks like I could just glue it back in. Do you recommend any type of glue that I should use? Has anyone else had this problem?

I received the v1.5 a few days ago and it is great! All of the minor issues I had with the original have been improved, particularly the on/off (works great). Also, the new model is much easier to put on and take off. I highly recommend this version!

    12. Isaiah Coberly 2-time creator on January 20, 2013

      Bill,

Thanks for the great comment! Comments like that Remind me why I do all of this.. I really feel a blast of joy when I remember that I made something that people use in there day to day lives. I wish I had a crystal ball where I could see the ways people use the FlipSteady and the places they go. Thanks!

FlipSteady is great and i use it constantly. I am always showing it to others who have never seen it before and i will be upgrading later. Your new improvements sound fantastic and will be a dramatic improvement. My old original is still working well and I have learned to adjust and work with the minor inconveniences you have evidently corrected in your new design. Just can't quite justify spending another $75.00 for the newer one. i am proud to say i am a backer for flipSteady.

I contributed $75.00 to your FlipSteady for iPad 2 project on April 18,2012. I have not received my product yet. You indicated that they would start shipping in August, 2012. If I do not receive it by Jan 19,2013, I will be forced to cancel the payment from American Express. I appreciate your prompt attention to this. I would be more than happy to forward my receipt from Amazon if you need that.

      Burgevin,

I received your returned package yesterday. I will certainly replace your FlipSteady and make sure to send the replacement in a very secure package so your FlipSteady arrives in good shape.

I was shocked how destroyed the product was when I received it! I have no idea how any package could be cared for less. The mangled FlipSteady inside the mangled package looks like someone literally went after it with a hammer and Pliers.

Ill get another package out to you when the next batch of Black FlipSteady cases is ready next week.

Thanks you Burgevin. Sorry for the unfortunate handling of your case.

      Isaiah,
With all due respect, can you stop with the one-off leopard prints and help those of us who put up good money for this project? I have yet to see any fixes for the camera issue. I cannot use the iPad for Facetime as long as it is in the Flipsteady case. You said you were working on this issue (as well as a 'magnet fix') over 3 months ago. And I sincerely hope the answer will not be for me to fork over more money for a Flipsteady 2.

      Burgevin, udo,

Yes. We are already in the process of developing the FlipSteady 2 for all iPad products from 2 on.. We will be announcing and showing our next generation product to backers and potential new backers alike. This will happen soon.. We know your going to like what we came up with!

    25. Hazli Sufian Sulaiman on October 26, 2012

Any chance this will be made for the ipad mini?

    26. Damian Walusz on October 3, 2012

I also noticed that when case is on ipad, my wifi connection strength decreases. Once I took it off after two weeks, the wifi got stronger.

I sreams lots of movies on iPad, and when I had the case on, the movies would load longer. Now the case is off, and the movies load much faster.

So I dont know if this is the case or my home wifi plays tricks on me.

the button that holds the strap got lose and it is falling off. ON top of this the strap with the hole for the button got ripped . Basically, the case is useless without these two small elements. Can you help me with this?

    29. Isaiah Coberly 2-time creator on September 27, 2012

Damian....That....is not a bad idea! :) I think Isaiah and I might just have to discuss that. Thanks for the suggestion!

I would also recommend getting rid of the circular closed edges around the camera and the home button.

Just leave the camera and the home button open and free from any covering. It will look neat and more practical. It will save a production cost as well.

    31. Isaiah Coberly 2-time creator on September 25, 2012

      Hazli,

The FlipSteady is currently designed so that the cover opens and closes without fastening closed in any way. We are hard at work developing the next generation of the FlipSteady and one of our considerations is to make the cover lightly fasten closed when it's laying flat on the screen. This would prevent the cover from falling open from gravity. We may do this with magnets or any number of other fasteners. Keep your eye on us for news on the FlipSteady as we improve our design.

Thanks for supporting us in our first production! :)

    32. Hazli Sufian Sulaiman on September 25, 2012

Love my case. Just wondering, I got the magnetic ones, should the cover stay close if I turn the iPad upside down or it is normal for it to flop open? Other than that, this replaced my customized Portenzo case which I thought was the bast case ever. Thanks!

    33. Isaiah Coberly 2-time creator on September 24, 2012

@Yi Dong Wu- I just double checked and saw that your reward was a FlipSteady for the ASUS ep121. Those cases have not been sent yet (domestic or international). We had a set back with some of the tooling needed for that case. We will be receiving the needed tools tomorrow. There are only 6 needed for Kickstarder rewards, so I can anticipate being able to finish making them and ship those by Wed.

Kindle Fire cases were shipped today!! We're almost done!

I am really enjoying the FlipSteady. I was just in a Chinese restaurant and all of the staff came up to me to ask me how to order on. I directed them to the flipsteady.com website, but then they came out to me to ask me where the button was to purchase it? I told them to click on the email link. Was I missing something?

    39. david watkins on September 23, 2012

UPDATE - After using my FlipSteady for 2 weeks, I had to update my opinion. I said 2 weeks ago that "I like it." But after using it long enough to get a feel for quickly knowing where to flip the panel for a given situation, I absolutely LOVE it. This thing is awesome! Hands down my favorite case ever - and I've tried at least a dozen so far. Easy to one hand hole in one position, or balance on your leg in another. In meetings, people looooook at this thing like what in the world.... It is a great IPad accessory and one I haven't wanted to take off my ipad yet.

I was so excited to open up my door a few weeks ago and see my new FlipSteady's had arrived! I immediately ran upstairs and carefully put it on my iPad. For me, my iPad is not my main gadget, I used it mostly for reading and travel. My new FlipSteady has been great for reading! It has been so nice not to have to fight to find a place to prop up the iPad so it won't slip down. Its also has been really useful in the kitchen! No longer is it acting as an electronic counter top!

I also bought one for my dad who uses it as his primary tool for responding to emails, skype, and reading. . . he loves it!

I know that there have been some users that have had some issues with the FlipSteady, and that can be frustrating. The one thing that I like about investing in a project like this is that you get to become part of the focus group, adding your input and critique for future versions. Every great invention gets improved upon over time. The foundation of this product is really well thought out and I know that over time the tweaks made will only make it better.

    41. Damian Walusz on September 17, 2012

The front camera is too close to the fabric therefore, when u take pictures you can see the fabric at the very bottom. Each time i readjust the case, it slips right back to the old position. I wish i could make the camera hole bigger. Any way to do it safely?

    42. Isaiah Coberly 2-time creator on September 17, 2012

@Damian- we are glad to hear you received your FlipSteady and like it! We are aware that there are a few flaws, but for our very first run of our very first product, I think we did okay. It was a huge learning experience and with the feedback that we have received, we will be able to adjust and fix the flaws to produce an even better product. Thank you and the rest of our backers for the support and allowing us to go on this adventure.

Hello, I just got my FlipSteady Pro!

It is pretty awesome and it works great.
Putting iPad in was a bit tedious.

However, I was a bit disappointed with the final finishing of stitches. Also, I was surprised that the cover does not have the magnets that would prevent the cover from opening when it is closed on iPad's screen.

Still, it is an awesome product, and I will give it a try for the next couple of weeks. I already owned another good case so I will compare these two.

Hi Isaiah, my great enthusiasm at receiving my FlipSteady Pro today and trying it out soon fizzled when I realised to my dismay that by magnetic version, you didn't mean magnets that would keep the cover closed on the iPad like the Smart Cover. Hence, carrying it about would just cause the cover to flop around on my iPad. NOT COOL. Looks like the FlipSteady will just become a curio piece rather than something I would really use and appreciate. Really disappointed.

      YoungKill,

Thanks for taking the time to post a comment and review. Thanks for becoming one of our backers so that we could produce the FlipSteady. We learned a lot about the production of our product during our first production and we are working hard to make sure every FlipSteady we produce has a flawlessly working magnet and a clear view of the camera. Thanks again for your support.

Is obviously a pretty good idea, a good product.

      But, overall disappointing.

I one Day used and I had to unhook.
      1. Quality, Style is bad
      2. Front of the camera being hidden problems.
      3. Off the screen due to the fully open magnet.

Isaiah Update #14 video is stinks.
"Below is a video showing how to easily manage the problem of the on off switch turning off when the cover is flat to the back of the iPad"
Do not want anyone that way.
And so no one does not want to

If this is your first introduction video and really stupid to

      Disappointed...

    49. Isaiah Coberly 2-time creator on September 12, 2012

      Eyal,

The Camera hole in the fabric is 0.22 in diameter. The camera hole in the aluminum is 0.33 in diameter. Subtract the Diameters and split the difference and we have 0.05" of fabric that we can trim on the bottom of the camera hole before we hit aluminum.

I have been loosely working on a solution to elongate the bottom of the camera hole by about .045" or more. I went to several office supply stores and found several brands of 1/4", single hole, handheld, hole punches that are typically used for punching paper. I was hoping that I would find a cheap $1 - $3 tool that most people would be able to buy regardless of where they are located. I was less than impressed with the results after having tried each of the hole punches on sacrificial FlipSteady parts.

NewPencil just relocated amidst our continuing production of FlipSteady cases and managing up coming designs. I hope you can imagine how busy I am.. That said, I'm not giving up! I'll find our fix and get back to you. If anyone else has a solution for us please be our hero and share.

The criteria for the fix is as follows -
Cheap/effective tool preferably found in the home or a local chain store but may also be ordered online.
Doesn't pose a threat to the life or wellness of our fellow FlipSteady users.
Can be easily shown on camera and executed with success on the first attempt by everyone who tries it. - that's the hard one!

I am getting my materials to test the magnet fix this week! I know it's going to work. I'll make sure I show everyone the problem and the answer in the next video update.

      Thanks,

      Isaiah Coberly
