About this project
For the past two years, childhood friends Mike Isenberg and Oliver Mertz have met every weekend over Skype to tell a story. Now, with the drawing talent of Daniel Lapham, they're almost ready to tell you that story, but they need your help.
First Law of Mad Science started out as a simple idea and quickly developed into a globe-trotting, high-stakes mystery/adventure, set in a bright, high-tech near-future world juxtaposed against some very dark and unsettling elements (such as: ancient unknown things, murderous personal ambition, evil corporate conspiracy, and apocalyptic hopelessness).
Twelve issues are planned. Issue one is set to debut at New York Comic Con this October. Your backing will help make that happen, by contributing to the costs of paying the artist (the talented Daniel Lapham) and printer, as well as expenses such as New York Comic Con exhibitor fees.
Telling this story has been a labor of love for us, and the process of turning it into an actual finished comic has been extremely rewarding. We hope you can be a part of that process. Take a look at the rewards on the right side of the screen, or just give what you can. Thanks! We look forward to being able to share the First Law Of Mad Science world with you! Special thanks to J.J. Surma for the V.O. in the video. UPDATE: We've reached our funding goal! Thanks so much to all of the backers! More pledges will still help, though. Take a look at the updates section to see how money raised beyond the goal will help the project.
