This project's funding goal was not reached on September 9, 2012.
About this project
We listened to all the parents and teachers that have approached us at the Chicago Comic Con and while promoting Video Game Comics. We've made Shadow Cat Video Game Comics a little more educational and rewarding for kids. We've cut some of the features and things we wanted to do like phone and tablet apps, found cheaper ways to have our site and user database developed to lower our funding goal needed.
We are also offering life time subscriptions for schools, learning centers, and libraries at the low price of $99 to use in the class room for fun reading activities for students. This subscription can be used on a unlimited amount of computers within one facility.
We are also working on a new Video Game Comics series geared towards hardcore comic book fans and gamers that we will put that project on Kickstarter in within the next two months. Thank you again for checking us out. Please click on the link below to visit our revised project on IndieGoGo.com!
Finally a comic that rewards kids for reading! And encourages them to read more. A kid safe comic, but with interesting story lines for adults. The Adventures of Shadow Cat and the concept of Video Game Comics received a great reception at this year's Wizard World Chicago Comic Con from kids, parents, and teachers.
For PC, Mobile Phone, Tablets with initial funding goal. If we surpass the goal we will develop for OUYA, Android, and iPhone!
What is this project? What are Video Game Comics and The Adventures of Shadow Cat?
Our patent pending Video Game Comics and Video Game Books are digital comics and books where within the story you play a video game or a combination of video games and other interactions that will alter the story and its outcome. You will have anywhere from two or more scenarios or outcomes per issue or book. It can even alter the entire series of the comic or book and the characters’ path. This adds tremendous value and re-readability and brings the best of both worlds for those who love comics and video games.
The games in Video Game Comics consist of any game mechanics that we can perform technically. It’s just based on what fits best in the storyline of the comic. Some comics will call for a beat’ em up type of game, some will call for a shooter, some will have puzzles, and so on. If you are a long term reader of the comics this allows for a vast experience of game mechanics. We have a huge focus on accessibility. So we’ll make sure that all of the game mechanics will be appealing, fun, and easy to understand for a vast majority of people. We hope to develop several Video Game Comics intellectual properties for both kids and adults.
You can also get achievement points which we refer to as "Shadow Points" for each issue. At the end of each Video Game Comic you get a summary of the Shadow Points you received while reading and playing. You can cash these Shadow Points in to get discounts on other video game comics and merchandise. You can even get free stuff if you have enough points. Similar to trading tickets for prizes like at Chuckie Cheese or Dave and Busters.
Come visit us in the Artist Alley of the Chicago Wizard World Comic Con August 9th to 12th, and Columbus Wizard World Mid Ohio Comic Con September 28th to the 30th. Stop by and say hi!
