After having taken time off, transferred schools (and coasts), switched majors, and taken an extra semester, I am finally graduating from college!
My last (and most exciting) undergraduate assignment is to create my Senior Thesis Show, my first public solo show as a fine artist. I am renting a studio space in downtown Providence and turning it into a gallery to showcase my hard work as a glass major at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). My work consists of conceptual sculptures that range from glass canvases to a life-size glass blanket. I will put on a one-week show with a traditional gallery opening that includes drinks and finger food during the first week of February 2013, to which all supporters (emotionally and financially) are happily invited. Glass and all of the materials I work with are pricy but I am determined to make my pieces work. Your donations will help with the cost of materials for my sculptures, rent for the space, and installation expenses. Kickstarter is all-or-nothing so if I do not reach my goal, I do not receive any money. But with the generosity of family, friends, and generous patrons, if I supersede this financial goal, I would be able to create more pieces and a show that exceeds even my hopes!

Risks and challenges
I am working very hard on a few pieces that are technically, physically and emotionally challenging. As you know, glass breaks. It can be incredibly frustrating but its fragility is one of the beauties and amazing attributes of glass. Many times the process of making is trial and error. If something breaks or does not work I try again in a different way. I am determined to get my ideas across in my work and make the pieces stand strong on their own. All of my sculptures will only get stronger with your support!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
