Hey guys! I wanted to make sure that the Physical box and game add-on is clear to you guys, so here are the details:
If you like your tier but you aren't automatically getting a Physical Box with it, you can add $30.00 to your pledge without changing your reward tier. If you need international shipping, add an extra $10.00, for a total of $40.00.
This add-on contains the Physical Box, the physical game, and a physical manual.
For the Fancy Noble Tier and Stuck In A Cave Tier, If you require international shipping, please add $10 per physical box. That's $10 and $20 respectively. If you don't want to pay for international shipping, you can forgo the physical box and keep the purely digital reward unchanged.
Now for some fun stuff! We have some fanart from people who've shown great support for YANTH!
Hello guys! We've been busy since the campaign launched, and we're so excited to announce a few developments. First off, we'd like to introduce another reward tier!
The Local Merchant Tier gets you a fully illustrated physical box of the game with an illustrated DVD, a physical manual, AND an extra steam key (if we're greenlit!) This comes with your wallpapers, a pre-alpha build of the first two condensed chapters after the campaign, beta access to custom mechanics throughout development, a digital copy of the YANTH soundtrack and the digital artbook!
All of the tiers above the Local Merchant Tier will also automatically have this included as a reward! The Fancy Nobles will get one box, Stuck in a cave will receive two, Not a Hero will receive three, Forest Hermit will receive four, Town mayor will receive 7 and Final Boss will receive 10! Please include $10 for international shipping. If you like your current tier and are not automatically receiving a physical box, you can add $30 to your current pledge without changing your reward tier.
Mac and Linux Support!
We've added a stretch goal to include Mac and Linux support!! Drew, our lead programmer and myself have been researching and testing day and night to make this a reality, talking with the engine creators to make sure that porting to both Mac and Linux are within our rights and means. It is possible, but it requires extra work and some outside help to make sure that the ports will play on your OS of choice. So we've added our second stretch goal!
With 26 days to go we have a very solid chance of achieving this goal! Tell your friends, share it with everyone that's hesitated to back because they love their Mac and Linux! Let's make this a reality!
As of this writing, there are 674 absolutely amazing people that we want to thank for helping us reach our goal! We would love to send each one of you a personal message thanking you for your contribution and support, but that would probably be detrimental to my health.
So we'll just do one giant one, and have Petula and her cousin Akika thank you from the bottom of their heart!
Because of how things have exploded, we only had enough time to solidify the first Stretch Goal planned for the campaign. We know everyone wants support for other platforms, including Mac, Linux, PS4, PSVita and Wii U (nobody wants mobile phones or tablets?) and we are looking into bringing the game to as many platforms as we can. That said, there may be limitations due to the game engine that may make some of these platforms very difficult to port to. Here's our first stretch goal:
Much of the graphics we have in the game are placeholder graphics, default sets that came with the RPG Maker engine. A lot of people don't like it, but most people don't mind it at all. Regardless, we want to make sure the game is as pleasing to the eye as it is fun to play.
We received a lot of warnings about doing physical rewards. Nightmarish problems about mailing problems, delivery time, international fees, product creation and handling, budget ANNIHILATION, the list goes on and on. I've done quite a lot of research into the matter even before these warnings, and I absolutely agree that physical rewards will be a stretch for us to provide, especially considering the fairly low prices we estimated in the previous update. As a small team of 5, this would be a nightmare.
That being said, Kickstarter has come a long way since it launched over four years ago. There is much more information available out there to make this achievable even for a small team. There are large companies that specialize in fulfillment services. They create the products, pack them and ship them for you, for a price. Technically, all we would have to do is give them the software, the designs, the mailing list, and the money. Granted, there are minimum amounts per order, such as 100 DVDs and boxes, or 200 T-Shirts.
Before launching any type of physical rewards, we want to make absolutely sure that we're able to provide them to you, our beloved backers. More importantly, we want to make sure that it doesn't stop us from doing what we're here to do in the first place; Develop You Are Not The Hero.
After all that, we do have one exciting addition to the reward tiers:
The Not A Hero Tier is a special limited edition tier in which you will be illustrated in the same style as Petula, replacing her on the poster! Beautifully crafted by the very talented artist Gretchen Graham. She prefers to draw on paper, and scan it to finish the digital painting. If you also want the original illustration autographed by her, simply add $100 to your pledge without changing the tier.
First of all I just wanted to thank all of the backers of You Are Not The Hero so far! Your help is fundamental to our success and we appreciate everything you've done for us, not just for pledging but for supporting us and spreading the word. Note that all of these pictures are currently mock ups and may not represent the final product.
It's come to our attention that a lot of people would like us to add physical (corporeal) reward tiers to the campaign. We'd like to ask our current and potential backers what type of rewards they would like the most. Below you'll see the types of physical rewards we may be offering you. Please comment and tell us which rewards you're most interested in!
Physical Box and Manual A physical box and manual tier would probably be around the $60 price range, depending on who we have fulfill our orders. It would include the game upon release, the fully illustrated PDF manual, the pre-alpha build of the game after the campaign, access to beta-test mechanics throughout development, the digital soundtrack and artbook. International shipping may cost extra.
Limited Graphic Posters Posters will probably be around $60 as well, mainly due to the special packaging. Depending on how much interest there are for posters, you'll be able to choose between different designs. The white and black Petula poster are the initial two we'll have available. It would include the game upon release, the fully illustrated PDF manual, the pre-alpha build of the game after the campaign, access to beta-test mechanics throughout development, the digital soundtrack and artbook. International shipping may cost extra.
Limited T-Shirts The T-Shirt tier will probably cost around $70 depending on who we count on for fulfillment. It would include the game upon release, the fully illustrated PDF manual, the pre-alpha build of the game after the campaign, access to beta-test mechanics throughout development, the digital soundtrack and artbook. International shipping may cost extra.
Limited Physical Soundtrack The physical soundtrack will be around $60 depending on who we count on for fulfillment. It would include the game upon release, the fully illustrated PDF manual, the pre-alpha build of the game after the campaign, access to beta-test mechanics throughout development, the digital soundtrack and artbook. International shipping may cost extra.
For all of the physical rewards above: If you like your current tier, we may be able to offer these as an add-on reward.
We're now on Steam Greenlight! We would love to offer "You Are Not The Hero" through the most popular PC game distribution service on the planet, but we need your help. If you have a steam account, please log in and click on that giant Yes button! Every single vote is important.
