Hello,
My name is Bryan Angus, I'm an artist living and working on the east coast of Scotland. I need your help to mount an exhibition in Edinburgh, in October 2018.
This is a big step for me, it's a solo promotion to take my work where it has hardly been seen. I started printmaking 6 years ago and I've had a fair amount of success, but I have a long way to go. I believe my work warrants a wider viewing - it represents traditional craftsmanship in the making and in the images, the every-day beauty found in the small communities of Scotland.
I'll need to pay for the venue for 8 days in the gallery centre of Edinburgh (at The Dundas Street Gallery), framing, transport, advertising and marketing – as well as for the making of a 40 page book to go with the exhibition.
To pay for all this I'm offering rewards of exclusive original prints - limited edition and signed - at prices lowered for supporters – and copies of the book that accompanies the exhibition, 'Carved Light'. All the prints are hand-made, from original drawings, carved in lino and printed on a Victorian book press in my studio. You can also spend time with me if you want tuition, or commission your own bespoke print.
Please have a look at the rewards on this page, I hope you'll want to own a print and will feel able to support my project. Maybe I'll see you in Edinburgh in October?
Thank you!

Stretch Goals
If I'm lucky enough to pass my goal I'll spend the extra funds on getting more books printed, more advertising and framing for future exhibitions. One last thing, if it goes really well I'd like to get an electric bike to take me landscape sketching - but that might be another story...
Risks and challenges
I have run a Kickstarter project before, to produce a book for a previous project, called Bright Coast. So I reckon I know what the pitfalls can be. The main thing you need to know is I have virtually all the artwork for the exhibition and the rewards ready to go, so for you as a supporter, there are few risks. If I don't reach the funding goal, no money is taken from supporters.
