What is Show or Tell?
Show or Tell is a fast-paced group party game that pushes the boundaries of decency…
Get ready to laugh yourself silly as you witness your friends showcase their ‘creative’ abilities - in a bid to act out or describe an eclectic mix of modern cultural references. With 500 cards ranging from controversial world leaders to socially inappropriate sexual profanities, there are endless opportunities for your friends to compromise their usual standards of dignity and political correctness.
Show or Tell is best played with an open minded and outgoing bunch of people, so leave your manners at the door and get involved!
What's in the box?
The box includes instructions detailing how to play the game, 500 cards (250 red 'Show' cards and 250 blue 'Tell' cards) and the possibility of unlimited ways to win each round.
The cards are 2"x3.5", professionally printed and digitally cut so they're easy to use.
How to play
After getting into teams, one player must select a stack of Red or Blue cards from the deck, when it is their teams go. Depending on the colour their teammates must either act out or describe what’s written on the card when the player lifts the cards to their head.
Red cards are acting cards and are worth two points when correctly guessed. Blue cards are describing cards, which are worth one point when correctly guessed.
Each round lasts one minute - with as many ‘passes’ as you like. When the time is up, your team keeps the cards that were correctly guessed.
When you’ve exhausted all the cards, or you’ve had too many beers to carry on – total up the number of points received from the cards that your team correctly guessed.
The team with the highest number of points at the end of the game is the winner... simple.
Why are we doing this?
I started to develop this game whilst recuperating from balls cancer, as a way to break the awkwardness of my recovery when people came round to show their support. The simplicity of the format provides immediate laughs; from the moment the game starts. Making life a lot less serious, and a lot more fun!
The format of Show or Tell was inspired by the best elements of various party games that my friends and I have played together over the years – developing our absolute favourite features and layering with a distinctly adult, often controversial and sometimes ridiculous sense of humour - to create the ultimate fast-paced party game.
My friends and I always look to find the comedy in any situation, and that is why you will find ‘testicular cancer’ as a featured bonus card in the deck. Because it is pretty funny to only have one ball, when you are supposed to have two.
With the help of your backing, we’ll be able to spread our style of fast-paced party fun around the world to other likeminded people - who just want to have a laugh with their friends.
The Show or Tell story
The first game was played when a bunch of friends came over for pizza and beers and was pretty basic - the ‘prototype’ consisted of around 250 hand written labels (I had plenty of time!) stuck to the back of some cheap playing cards housed in an empty blueberry punnet. The concept worked straightaway – providing a whole evening of debauched hilarity. Watching your newlywed best friends act out a prostate exam (surprisingly accurately) isn’t something you can put a price on!
Afterwards, we all started to work together to refine the format, improve the design and make the subjects of the cards as ridiculous as possible.
With the help of some talented buddies (Cooper aka the designer, and Randy aka product development and international import guru), we now have our final prototypes, which have been played at various house parties and weekends away. And this is the point in our journey where we meet you ….. here on kickstarter!
There are many people which I have to thank for getting the game to this stage - and hopefully I can also add you to the list, if you decide to back this project!

Risks and challenges
The main challenge for this project from a backer’s perspective is getting the item…
We’ve already developed a number of key relationships with other global firms to ensure you get your products. These include a leading printing company in China (who will make the best quality game in short time frame), fulfilment specialists (both in the UK and USA to ensure the product is delivered on time).
Another challenge we’ve noticed from other projects is the additional shipping and tax costs…
As mentioned we’ve already developed relationships with leading global fulfilment companies within the UK and USA who will deliver your item in line with the pricing included within our backing tiers. We’ve already paid all the duty and taxes so there will not be any hidden costs.
The final main challenge that we could face is if we receive an unprecedented number of backers and do not have enough box sets or expansion packs to fulfil all of those orders in a timely manner...
Our solution would be to create additional production runs with clear estimated ship dates for future orders.
These are the main challenges which we have already prepared for however if you have any other questions please visit our FAQ section otherwise don’t hesitate to email me on email@example.com and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
