In the early 1980s I moved to Staten Island, New York. As I walked through the borough with a large format camera on a tripod, I recorded one of the least noted areas of New York City and its working-class culture.

For the past few years I have been hard at work selecting images, making high res scans and editing the pictures. My next move is to publish this work as a book with accompanying exhibitions. The money raised from Kickstarters will be used to complete the preparation of the digital files for reproduction, produce work prints and exhibition quality prints and hopefully, offset the actual production costs in getting the book published.

With your help I can finally bring this project to the next level. As an incentive, I've made some really great rewards for Kickstarter supporters.

Selected images from the project are printed on heavyweight paper. These postcards can be sent in the mail or kept as collectables.

Limited edition books made especially for Kickstarter supporters contain thirteen images from the project. Each of the three books (blue, grey and chestnut) contain a different set of thirteen images.

I believe that these photographs comprise an interesting document not only of Staten Island, New York, but of working class American culture in the late twentieth century. I am hoping that you will be willing to offer support so that I can finally bring this project to the next level. Thanks for looking and I appreciate your interest in my project.
