Hey everybody we’re doing a Kickstarter.
But it might be more accurate to call it a Kickfinisher.
We want to finish the album and we have a couple expensive steps that need to be completed before the album can be considered ready for public consumption.
1.) We need to master it.
2.) We need to finish the album art.
3.) We need to press it.
The first step is going be a little more expensive this time around because of the third step. We’re going to press vinyl. We’ve never done this before. Mostly because it’s kind of a niche format and it’s really expensive to press vinyl. And you need to master differently for vinyl as opposed to CD. So we basically have to master the album twice.
We're gonna press vinyl!
But a lot of you have been asking us to press vinyl. So we’re gonna do it.
We’ll still press CDs, but to be honest, I think CDs are on the way out. My computer doesn’t have a disc drive. I don’t even have a CD player.
But I do have a record player so it’d be great to have a vinyl version of our album that I could throw on there.
Everybody will get a digital pre-release download at any level. So no matter what level you contribute at, no matter what format you choose, you’ll get the album before it’s officially released.
We need to recoup our costs
Now it won't cost us $10,000 to master and press the album. It's more like $5000 to do all that (depends on how many vinyls we need to print). The rest of our goal is to cover costs we have already incurred and that includes:
- Paying our amazing and talented recording engineer, Zaid Maxwell.
- Paying for studio time.
Anyway, thanks for your support and we hope you enjoy the album regardless of the format it comes on!
Risks and challenges
It might take us a little bit to send you the download code. We could be eating or sleeping or in a place without wifi. Please be patient.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
