I don't understand this idea that board game companies aren't allowed to make money or that their Kickstarter exclusive game can't be sold again in another campaign. The self righteous indignation at the fact they are "using Kickstarter as a pre-order service" for doing a second campaign when they know damn well that's what this campaign was is especially laughable. Monolith has every right to sell their game, and if Kickstarter isn't putting the kabosh on them selling it this way, then more power to them. It doesn't diminish my copy at all.

Stefano, what we're offering will be for backers of the first campaign, too.

Merci Monolith. J'avais vraiment la flemme. ;)

Make sure you sort out the defect ones from the 1st campaign first- the printer machine and blunt blade damaged ones.

    5. Stefano Trivellato on

if you add something on this last campaign, will you send it also to the original 7500 backers too? :\

    6. 95SupraTT on

Well I am getting another one regardless. The game is cool AF.

Hi folks, while we aren't rolling out any new physical material at this point, we will be offering a special something that will be available to all ;)

Do I need another copy? Nah...
Do I want one? Hell yeah! :D

I do like that they choose that way to sell remaining copies on KS.

@ 95SupraTT I agree with you, really great game.
@ Kaladin I'm 100% with you, this also have been my best KS experience.

I hope they sell the 2.5k copies left so they don't loose too much money and maybe make a new old great game reedition. Now I doubt this will happend as the boss of Monolith said that the 1st 10k print is at a slight loss and the expect to make money on a 2nd reprint. We will see, I wish them luck :)

If this is just a sell off of another 2,500 copies, it's a bit disappointing. I wish they would make some sort of enhancement instead/in addition. For example, I wish we had an updated version of Furor Sanguinis.

    12. Kaladin on

I agree about stretch goals essentially being fake by most companies (AR, CMON, Steamforge, Monolith, Mythic Games all know what they are making in advance so there isn’t really a need to waste time). I wish more campaigns would have the quick turn around as this game. This has probably been my best experience on Kickstarter so far

and I thought it was a new expansion.^^

    14. 95SupraTT on

@kaizoku but is such an amazing game and everyone that I have played it with is ready for the re-release. I think it is a great strategy, especially only having a few games released and this is one heck of a way to get their name out there. More people are starting to see the quality that Monolith builds their games.

For you guys that don't speak french, it was explained in a podcast. So in short, claustrophobia have been printed to 10000 copies. The plan was to test a new business model direct to consumer through KS. No strech goals but shoter delay as the game was already ready and printed (?) at the time of the 1st KS. The hypothesis was that people don't care about strech goals because it's fake as nowadays for big games strech goals are planed in advance. So the boss of Monolith thought that we can same time and energy not play pretend with an already know outcome of a KS campaign. But this didn't work as expected. This is because us french people are very good to created good stuff but extremely bad in marketing them. For many french people selling something is bad. Anyway what you got here are the left over of the already printed edition. Nothing new.

I doubt they'll add new stuff, since it seems like this second campaign will be just to sell out of their already-created stock -

but that said, @monolith if you do add new content, put me down as a +1 for a deck of tile cards, and also more art prints!

    17. BlueSan on

I do expect something new or added content, otherwise this is strange and not for KS really

@Benjamin - often game companies do updates, add-ons, and/or expansions to their already printed games. A companion deck of cards matching tiles is an excellent idea for something like that should Monolith ever consider enhancing their current game.

@Jake - that is actually an excellent idea! Both the shuffling issue and also effects and a clear delineation of open pathways on the cards would be a huge help!

Can you please include a deck of cards, one for each of the rooms, so we can shuffle those instead of shuffling the gigantic tiles? Ideally they would have a picture of the room and the special effects of the room if any. Please see Gears of War by FFG for an example of how this has been executed well.

Great game with generally high production value, delivered quickly and on time—i.e., I'm a very happy backer of the original campaign.

@AGN1964: Sorry to say, but Kickstarter doesn’t care about their own rules, only their 10%. They are no longer about helping people Create, they are about the bottom line.

Otherwise they would enforce rules where creators like Ninja Division should not have been able to steal over $1M from backers by running 4 consecutive projects.

Kickstarter as a company does not care whether CMON, Monolith, or dozens of other established companies bring finished products to their platform as a store. They just want their cut.

This is a second print of a remaster that has already launched and shipped to previous backers. I got mine and I can tell you it is some of the best packaging and detail that has ever graced a boardgame.

      @Strogar
Regardless of how you think the rules read...do you not want to see Monolith succeed and sell the rest of their product? Think that another 2,500 games in the wild will hurt the enjoyment of your copy? (or the resale value?)

I am all for the more the merrier to enjoy this great game and wish Monolith great success moving forward! I bet they sell out really fast too!

    29. AGN1964 on

@Duane Wright Here is what it says:

Projects that share things that already exist, or repackage a previously-created product, without adding anything new or aiming to iterate on the idea in any way.

There is no mention of ownership. What makes you think that is true? KS has always been about creating things. It is not a store for existing products.
