ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
Timelines Homepage: http://www.epxgames.com/timelines.html
Timelines is a strategy card-game built upon the foundations of those that came before, yet offering a fresh take on the genre.
Experience a collectable card game unlike any other. Play as the most ancient beings in the universe and select your Heroes from four unique factions of different timelines. Spanning the past and distant future, Timelines provides a new take on the card-game genre with a focus on customization and strategy.
The Xbox One is the lead platform for Timelines and it will be launching first on the Xbox One Console. Going forward we need to get the Xbox One version to the right state, before deciding which platform we want to bring the game to next too.
We do have plans on bringing Timelines to other platforms like the PS4 , WiiU, as well as portable consoles like the 3DS/2DS and the PS Vita / PS TV.
Before the dawn of time itself, there existed only The Ancients. They created all that is the known universe, it's laws, it's checks and balances. Lastly, they created life. Only to watch it flourish and fail in every timeline, in every possible scenario.
In the interest of finding a champion, a hero, one life form that could succeed where the others had failed, the Ancients devised a final effort to redeem humanity. They would choose Heroes of the infinite timelines, and take them on as champions of this cause. Through battle one timeline would prevail, and prove itself worthy of the Gods favour.
Every aspect of development—art, game design, music, programming, etc.— is being handled by Emanouel Pontikakis. We believe we have the right team to create a truly remarkable game. Timelines will have 160 unique and original cards created for series 1. Backers will have access to seeing this team at work through blogs, podcasts, videos, concept art—the works!
FACTION 01: Noble Crown
During the middle ages there were the crusades, in pursuit of religious expansion the church ordered an all out attack on all neighboring villages. Those neighboring villages put up a fight that would last decades, but in the end, the power of the churches armies only continued to grow. Many lives were lost in the battles.
Years later the Black plague disease came around thus killing off many people in eastern Noble Crown controlled areas where the church’s main power originated. The Black death not only killed the living but it brought the dead back to a form of ungodly life. The un-dead outnumbered the living after the main battle to convert the other villages to Noble religion and the Crown, leaving more un-dead soldiers than live ones.
FACTION 02: The Armada
Five thousand years after the bio-nuclear war that ravaged an entire solar system, many planets making up the Armada’s homeworlds are still decimated and uninhabitable. It had started as most wars do, with the Armada consisting of many worlds and populations, it was only a matter of time before one turned on the others.
The worlds loyal to The Armada were split into three regions long ago, in the pre-empt to war, each region believed the other to be planning an all out attack. This lead to an arms race and political struggle for power by each region over the other’s territory. It wasn’t long before an all out nuclear and bio-weapons based war began, a single atalyst set the galaxy into turmoil. Entire species were wiped from existence. The Armada remains a tentatively allied group of space- faring species, who see the costs of their war every day in the memories of once beautiful worlds, now nearly uninhabitable.
FACTION 03: Hellshire Unleashed
Among the ancients there were many who took an interest in the life that had been formed upon earth, though one saw an opportunity to overtake others with an army consistent of those lost souls already accustomed to evil. Granting these ones a place in Hell’s legions, and powers beyond that of any mortal. This Ancient one patiently awaited the day when he may unleash this force of evil upon his peers, and overtake them.
FACTION 04: TES: Tactical Enforcement Squad
There was a time when the human race could express thoughts and act on their own accord. A time when thoughts and actions were the result of natural bio- chemical reactions in the brain, nothing more. This was a time long ago; thoughts are now regulated through a central implanted system. From birth, cyber-tech takes over, allowing a much faster and all encompassing mental development process.
This generation, known by their predecessors as the reliant ones, would continue to embrace cyborg technology until it became their demise. In the end humankind became a sick experimentation upon itself as cyber-tech prolonged lives, turned some to robotic warriors, and others into failed experiments.
Above you can see the staging artwork of Shield Master from start to finish. We added the pen marks just to illustrate from start to finish. Shield Master was originally a riot geared themed basic cop that had died in battle and was part of the 3rd Faction: Hellshire Unleashed.
As the staging art progressed he started to notice that he belonged more in the 4th faction: Tactical Enforcement Squad. revisions had to be made to his looks, uniform and gear to make him fit into the futuristic faction. We also played around with making the shield the focus point instead of the person in the outfit.
At the beginning of the game, each player places his or her hero card onto the game board. Players take out all of the zombie cards from within the deck and place them onto the game board. Players then shuffle their decks and then place them onto the game board. Players roll a dice to see which order they will play; the person with the highest score goes first. Each player then draws 4 cards. Each player starts with 1 Prophecy point and they are gained based on the type of game they are playing, for example in Quick Mode you gain 1 Prophecy point at the start of each turn. While in Normal Mode you gain 1 Prophecy point after every two turns.

Funding / Support: You!
This is where your feedback and involvement comes in. Each backer who donates $ 5 and above will gain access to our PRIVATE Facebook group. This exclusive closed group with be used to connect with the team members while we work on development of Timelines. We will be posting many goodies as well as looking to your valuable feedback to help us create the best possible game we can.
Here is a sample of what we will be posting on the group and things we will be looking for feedback on.
Monthly Surveys / Character / Card Design polls
Backer only Contests / Monthly Discussions & More....
We have a few other ideas for connecting with you the backers; they will be announced in the future.
80% ($24,000) of the funds we are asking for will be used on creating artwork for the game. That includes more of the following cards; Hero, Supporter, Skirmish, Spell, Armor, Weapons and Boosters.
20% ($6,000) will be used for kickstarted fees as well as funds for securing the physical rewards items for this campaign.
We would like to thank you for taking the time to read up about EPX Games and our newest game Timelines. We hope you like what we have envisioned for Timeslines the game and we look forward to hearing back from all of you.
Risks and challenges
1. We all know game development is inherently unpredictable—delays and unexpected costs being the two most common “known unknowns.” The key core members Emanouel, Scott and Sammy have known each other for the past ten years and have always worked towards the same goal. All 3 of them will also be taking roles in the games Quality Assurance process to
make sure the game is as polished as possible before launching.
2. Another challenge we say in the past was juggling working with 5 artists each in different time zones. It was a tough battle at first as we would be receiving messages all times of the day. We talked to the artists and figured out times that would expect to receive and also times that we would be sending back responses.
Working out a system like this helped us out greatly, and we are always looking for more ways to more more efficient.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
