Welcome to the world of Salt & Burn! In this fast-paced tabletop board game you will make Demon Deals, get stuck in Purgatory, and battle monsters and fellow hunters to win.
[At this point in time we have reached all of our stretch goals, yay! We now have a full color, glossy print rule book, color acrylic tokens, two colors of health counters (for faster counting) 10 bonus surprise cards for everyone, AND everyone who has pledged at the $65 level and above will be receiving the End of Days expansion pack for free!]
Earn points based on lives saved while hunting the things that go bump in the night. these creatures from fantasy and myth vary in difficulty. The more challenging the monster, the more people you save and the more points you receive for your successful hunt.
Start your adventure by choosing your character and vehicle cards, travel the board by rolling the dice, encounter monsters and random events, and collect items and trunk cards along the way. For a quick game, be the first Hunter to save 10 lives. For a more involved game play until you and your fellow hunters have defeated all the monsters in the deck.
Event cards and monster cards should be shuffled together for surprises along the road.
You can collect Item cards to help boost hit points and damage points for your character. Trunk cards can help you as you move around the board, or be used to trip up your fellow hunters.
The game board and all the game cards are fully illustrated with stunning creatures and unique characters complete with their own backstories.
Salt & Burn allows people of all ages to join in the hunt. Because we want everyone to be able to play our game, we've included several different pledge levels. For even a rather low donation you can receive a playable card-only version of Salt & Burn. CONTENT
The original, full version of Salt & Burn comes with an amazing amount of content, making it a fully rounded board game to add to your collection. The primary game is easy to pick up and understand. The full version includes:
- 12 unique Hunter Characters
- 170 total game cards
- 18" x 18" professional grade folding game board
- 6 unique acrylic cut player tokens
- 150 acrylic cut health point counters for faster game play
- 2 red and black game dice
- Game box
All of the art on this kickstarter is subject to change a bit here and there; what we're showing you is preliminary work. We do have a few details to hammer out in order to provide you with the best game possible.
BOOSTER PACKS
We are currently developing 2 booster packs! Each booster pack comes with 35 new cards to add to your Salt & Burn game. Each booster pack adds a little something different to diversify your game and make it a new playing experience.
Bitten Booster pack - Vampires and Werewolves, oh my! This booster pack adds a total of 8 new hunters, 4 Vampires and 4 Werewolves, as well as 27 new surprise cards to add to your deck. Just like in the original Salt & Burn, these new species of Hunters have their own natural abilities and advantages that make them incredible Hunters. There are 35 cards total in the Bitten Booster pack.
Brother Booster pack - There's nothing more important than family, and family don't end with blood. This booster pack is specifically made to add a secondary hunter character to your play. You can either play 2 characters yourself or play with teams of 2. This pack comes with new rules to play by to facilitate team play. There are 35 cards total in the Brother Booster pack.
Risks and challenges
We have based our estimated delivery date and costs on producing approximately 50 games. If we are pleasantly surprised and exceed these estimates it may be challenging to meet our goal of distributing all rewards to our supporters by October. At this point, our primary challenge is funding the initial fifty games.
