I'm interested in developing an open-source sculpture/building "toy" system that will allow people to experiment with complexly curved shapes. The idea is to have a modeling system designed for a world in which curved architecture is increasingly prevalent, and in which tinkerers and designers are rapidly becoming enabled with 3D printers.
I came very close to having Quirky develop this system but they ended up going in a different direction. After retrieving the intellectual property rights for the idea from Quirky I decided to develop this concept as an open-source project. Maybe some of you with CAD skills and access to 3D printers will help bring this new building-toy concept to life. (Some SketchUp files that explore this system are available here & here.)

Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges for this project are quite small and manageable. During the prototyping process unforeseen challenges are very likely to arise, but given the inherently simple nature of the the project, and the well-developed capabilities of CAD programs and 3D printers, it is highly unlikely these challenges will prevent my completing the project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
