About

Recycle, reuse, re-purpose, go green....

not one more tree needlessly dies for a piece of furniture.

By using recycled lumber, I create an unique furniture piece and keep old growth lumber out of our landfills or being set on fire. Old growth lumber has many qualities and characteristics not found in newly harvested lumber. By creating an heirloom for your family that the base lumber is over 70 plus years old.

I take down almost any building... barns, houses, garages, sheds, and any structure that has salvageable lumber. I use everything that I find: wood, doors, glass, tin, steel, bed frames, etc. Even dumpsters catch my attention for usable materials for a project.

I also search out vintage hardware for my projects; old hinges, knobs, drawer pulls and the like. I enjoy putting together each piece with elements from the period of the lumber I use. Most everything built is an original unless a pair is ordered.

I am trying to raise funds to acquire a wood working shop, to build, create and to keep my materials out of the weather. I own wood working equipment and tools. I have been building furniture for several years. With limited space for my equipment, tools and building materials, I am in need for space to be able work properly.

Risks and challenges

Since I use reclaimed lumber, I have my eye out for other discarded items that could work on a project or two. I have a hard time cutting an eight foot board for a six foot project. I will have several projects in the works at one time so that no wood goes to waste.

I have found a building that is a former cabinet shop, so it is set-up for me to move in and begin work. The funds would help with moving my heavy wood working equipment before the snow flies.
I have several pieces of furniture for sale in a shop in northern Minnesota, and other shops are requesting some of my work to be consigned. My web site tends to generate interest and requests for cabinets, kitchen islands, book shelves, etc. to be built.
