Thoughts on our last Kickstarter Project!
So why take this project to Kickstarter?
Red Sunrise is kind of my comeback story. I spent two years developing a different project with an artist friend of mine before he unfortunately passed away. I took a little break from comics and it wasn’t till after my son was born that I realized I was dishonoring my friend’s memory by abandoning our dreams. I need to complete this project not only to honor my friend, but to take the next step in building my comics career. I need to make this a real career so I can provide for my family. It's time to make the dream a real job.
Being on Kickstarter gives us a unique opportunity to build our audience and get the word out about this project while it's being finished. There just isn't another platform that creators can use to jumpstart or expand their career.
- Script is finished.
- Cover complete
- 5 pages of finished art.
- 70 pages thumbnails completed.
Pascal is already hard at work on the book. The Digital Rewards, with the exception of the book, will ship in June. The book will be finished and ready for delivery by the fall and will be the last reward to go out.
Risks and challenges
Some of the risks and challenges with completing the campaign will be finishing the project, same as any comic project. Having ran a successful Kickstarter in the past, I've seen this challenges first hand and have a much better understanding of how to keep the process of finishing the project moving this time around.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
