DancEthos is asking for your help in funding our upcoming performances April 8th and 9th, 2017 at The Kreeger Auditorium. With dances ranging from intimate and evocative to fierce and explosive, tender and introspective to energizing and whimsical, this performance is sure to have something for every audience member! Check out our video above of rehearsal footage from 6 of the dances we will be presenting.
DancEthos’ “incredibly skilled dancers whose movement seems to come from the soul” (DC Metro Theater Arts) will present 5 premieres and 2 company favorites. The show will feature the choreography of DancEthos Artistic Director Tiffany Haughn, DE company members Jenny T. Flemingloss and Elizabeth Odell Catlett, and guest choreographers Rick Westerkamp and NYC-based Mat Elder. We are also excited to be sharing the stage with the brilliant dancers of guest company Gin Dance Company and are proud to present the work of their Artistic Director Shu-Chen Cuff.
Performances of this scale cost the company more than $5,000 for rehearsal expenses, theater rental, technical crew, marketing materials, and other technical/design costs. Not only is producing high-caliber work expensive, but DancEthos is committed to keeping our ticket prices at $25 or lower so that we can reach the widest audience.
We need your help today to cover all the performance costs. Every dollar we raise over the $5,000 goal will then go toward paying our sixteen committed dancers who volunteer their time, energy and talent all year round.
Here are some examples of what your pledge will fund:
$15 = 1 hour of rehearsal space
$25 = 1 dancer’s costume
$50 = Programs for the performance
$100 = Performance photography
$150 = Postcards and marketing materials
$250 = Travel stipends for the dancers
$300 = Insurance for the theater
$500 = Guest choreographer fee
$750 = Lighting Designer fee
$2,500 = Theater rental
