SYLVIO is an independent feature film shooting in January of 2016
It's the story of a small town gorilla, Sylvio, who is stuck in his job at a debt collection agency. Deep down he just wants to express himself with his hand puppet, Herbet Herpels, and his experimental puppet show that highlights the quiet moments of life. He accidentally joins a local TV program and a series of on-air mishaps threaten to shatter his identity, sending him on an adventure of self-discovery where reality and fantasy start to blend.
Think WAYNE'S WORLD but with a gorilla, then add an extra scoop of visual inventiveness and imagination.
We are a micro-budget film, which basically means that we're making this movie as cheaply as possible. A guerrilla gorilla film, if you will. But some costs are hard to avoid. We need money for basic film costs, such as camera rentals, lighting equipment, flights for crew, post-production, and basic human needs, such as food and water.
This is our passion project. We truly can't do this without you. So, please scroll down to read more about us, and if you can donate or even just share our link with friends, we'll be forever grateful. Thanks!

Now we’d like you to meet Herbert Herpels...
He is Sylvio’s hand puppet who loves the simple things in life like painting & writing haikus. Since Sylvio can’t speak, he sometimes expresses himself through Herbert.
Also, say hi to Sylvio’s hero, Uncle Otis...
THERE’S PLENTY MORE… BUT WE CAN’T TELL YOU EVERYTHING NOW… It’ll all make sense when you see the finished movie!
From the bottom of our hearts, we appreciate any support helping us bring Sylvio’s unique story to the screen.
He’s a gorilla but he’s really just like you and me. His story is a universal tale of an outsider who has a hard time expressing himself. He's misunderstood and that gets him into trouble. But with the help of some new friends he might just find his own special place in the universe.
