"Close" Doesn't ONLY Count in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades!

Posted by Spectrum Games (Creator)

Okay, so we didn't hit the $8,000 mark by yesterday at 7:00 p.m., but we did hit it this afternoon... and that's good enough for us! As such, we will unveil the two additional "mystery" stretch goals.

In addition to the series book by the amazing Steven "Bull" Ratkovich, the first new stretch goal will be automatically unlocked as well. And that stretch goal is a Season 3 version of the uber-popular "Going Japanese" mini-supplement PDF, written by the always awesome Bryan Beyer.

The second new stretch goal is at the $20,000 mark and it will allow us to add a rulebook upgrade as a $25 Add-On for anyone who has pledged to the Cartoon Hero Tier. What is this Add-On, you ask? By taking this $25 Add-On, you'll be able to transform your rulebook into a hardcover book with the option of an alternate wrap-around cover (you can still opt to take the original cover art or the custom cover art available if you've pledged to one of the Tiers that grants it to you)!

I will update the KS page graphics to reflect the new stuff later tonight.

Thanks for everything, gang!

John: Yeah? Well how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?

Ms Creator: Shazbot, you remember Irving? (The NBE version, not the SNAFU version.) Perhaps we should extend an invitation to the Alter-Ego list, where Roy frequently hollars for help in scanned pages or raw data or both, and we alternately praise or mock Roy. And, boy, did we have fun with the NBE issue of A/E. The caveat is that posting in and reading through the Alter-Ego fan list changes one's brain into the very type of thinking that you reference....

And, yes, I would be delighted in an NBE/early-MAD comics supplement for CAH now that you mention it. (And if you didn't, I just did.)

I second the nomination for a hardcopy collection of mini-supplements!

That's actually something we're considering adding.

How many stretch goals do we need to hit before we can purchase a physical collection of the mini-supplements?

LOL! We don't have to get to get $24,000 to unlock the Add-On... just $20,000. :)

I'd be annoyed that we have to get to $20,000 to get a hardcover version but we have to get to $24,000 anyway. :)

@Chet: Well, you'll have a choice between those two formats if that stretch goal is reached. Regardless, I like the way your brain thinks. Edible books is a cutting-edge idea, my friend. And for what it's worth, I'm a big "Not Brand Ecch" fan too. Long live Irving Forbush!

@Curt: I'm glad to hear it. I think you had already predicted that it would be added as a stretch goal though. :)

Now that Going Japanese is unlocked, I'm stoked about this game.

"Close" ALSO counts with thermonuclear devices.

Since right now, we have a choice between a softbound book or a hardbound book, is there an option for a semi-solid book? Or (better!) a semi-sweet chocolate book?

I warned you "my" cartoons were from 1958! And if I was to do another comic book "series," it would be a revived "Not Brand Ecch."
