"Across the Bridge" is a 5-minute animated film that centers around the bonding of two siblings through a video game.

Our story pursues the relationship between a little brother, Sunny and an older sister, Ana. Going through tough times in her teenage years, Ana faces a conflict with her dad in the beginning of the film. In an attempt to cheer his sister up, Sunny asks her if she would want to join in a video game with him. Ana angrily turns him down, which leaves Sunny to start the game on his own. In this game, Sunny takes on the avatar of a red panda who struggles to defeat his opponents. Being an fearless player, Sunny does not gives up, and somehow manages to battle his way through before hitting a tough spot. By the end of the film, we see that Ana regrets her response to her little brother, and joins the game to defeat the opponents together, symbolically taking down the emotional barrier between them.

The setting of the story is divided in two worlds. One takes place in Modern Europe which will be depicted with 2D hand drawn animation. And the other one takes place in Ancient Eastern Asia which will be fully 3D computer animation.
We want to utilize the different settings and mediums to convey the idea of disconnect between the siblings.

Many of us have been through struggles with family members, but our film want to illustrate that the bonds between families can always withstand the test of time. We hope that we are able to captivate everyone into a memory lane of childhood through the stylized, hand drawn 2D animation. On the other hand, the 3D animated world represents the fun and exciting experiences we share with our siblings.
In the end, we wish to bridge the gap between the siblings by inviting Ana into Sunny's world.

Risks and challenges
Schedules and Pipeline: One of the biggest challenges of making an animated short film is the amount of time, devotion and effort that is needed to create animation. It is a practice that requires tremendous passion and dedication. Thus, staying on schedule will be our number one priority, but also one of our challenges. Therefore, we need all the help from you guys to support us through this exciting and fun process of film making.
Resources and Mediums : "Across the Bridge" started with a simple idea one year ago, while sharing thoughts about animation. We knew that we wanted to make a film about bridging our identity with our cultural roots. At the same time bridging 2D animation and 3D animation. Although we are confident with both mediums, combining the two can be challenging. In the end, we believe that making this visually striking short film for you guys will be a rewarding experience.
