Vote 7 Generation Games into the Global Entrepreneurship Summit Semifinals!

Posted by 7 Generation Games (Creator)

We wouldn't be where we are today without you having backed our Kickstarter campaign. As a Spirit Lake backer, you've been with us since the beginning!. We are so appreciative that you believed in what we're doing. We'd love your support once again - we need your vote. If you’re reading this post and thinking, “Where do I go vote?” the answer is right here. (And you can go back and vote once a day!) If you’re a little more reserved and wondering, “What am I voting for?” please read on.

Vote 7 Generation Games into the GES pitch competition! Our CEO Maria Burns Ortiz was selected as one of the U.S. entrepreneurs to attend the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad, India, where founders from 160 countries will meet along with investors and policy leaders to discuss innovation and entrepreneurship (hence the name) with an emphasis on female-led companies and improving global equity.

As part of that, she's competing in the GES 2017 pitch competition, where semifinalists will have a chance to actually pitch their companies as part of the event. The top vote getters will advance to the live pitch round - and we know our amazing group of Kickstarter backers (you guys rock!), newsletter subscribers, social media followers and fans can certainly help make that happen.

It’s super easy (and free) to do - you just go to the site here and sign up. (Yes, you have to create an account, but it’s a one-time process, they’re not going to send you a bunch of junk emails and think about how many other times you’ve signed up for totally random things.)

Then go to the one that says “Maria Burns Ortiz of 7 Generation Games” and vote. You might have to scroll or you can just search the page for either “Maria Burns Ortiz” or “7 Generation Games.” It looks like this:

Vote for this one!
Vote for this one!

Voting is open through the evening of Nov. 23 - and you can vote once a day.

We say it all the time, but we are incredibly appreciative of the amazing support and community we’ve started building around 7 Generation Games and the work we do. Thank you again for supporting us both here on Kickstarter and on our road to GES, helping us get a chance to literally tell the world what we’re doing to help make kids smarter and change the world one math problem at a time.

Check out our new Kickstarter project, AzTech Games!

You've had our back since Day 1 - and we're forever grateful for your support. We wanted to let you know about our new Kickstarter project, AzTech Games.

You can back us for as little as $1 to get the first two games in the series.

It's every thing you loved about our first games - in two languages.

Introducing AzTech Games!
Introducing AzTech Games!

AzTech Games is the FIRST fully bilingual, cross-curricular math adventure game series on the market. Imagine if you played a game like Legend of Zelda or Oregon Trail, and by the time you got to the end, you mastered a math concept. That's what we do at 7 Generation Games. We make better educational games that lead to better math scores - with the data to prove it. Now, we're taking it to the next level - and going fully bilingual - with AzTech. You can help us!

If current solutions were working, math scores would be going up - and they're not. We've built something that data shows works.

Only want to play the game in English? No problem - that's the default, just play and go. The game alone is an awesome educational experience. But let's say you're one of the half billion Spanish speakers around the globe or you're a native English speaker trying to learn Spanish or you're one of tens of millions of bilingual Americans who are looking for games where you or your kids see characters like themselves - then AzTech is the educational game you've been waiting for.

And with every backing - we're giving game licenses to low income schools and afterschool programs - with your support, we can make a huge difference.

Here's a sneak peek at what lies ahead:

Our Newest Game "Making Camp" is Available in the App Store for iPad - FREE!

Posted by 7 Generation Games (Creator)

As a backer of Spirit Lake, you've been there since the beginning - as in the very beginning, when we were just a handful of people making our very first game. Since then, we've built 7 Generation Games into a growing business, and we are so excited to announce that this week, we have released our FOURTH commercial game!

Making Camp – the first iPad app from 7 Generation Games – is available in the Apple App Store! You can download “Making Camp” for FREE by going here:

(We'd really love it if you left a review as well!)

Ever since we started working on 7 Generation Games – building games that combine math, social studies and gaming – we’ve been getting requests for an app version. And we promised it was coming. But we wanted to make sure that when we put out an app – it was a good one, an app that was both fun and effective. And that takes time. “Making Camp: Ojibwe” draws from the work we’ve done over the last 2-and-1/2 years in building and efficacy testing games that actually teach. You’ll find that in “Making Camp” – from the hands-on math challenge mini-games to the engaging learning videos that teach math problem-solving strategies or Native American history. Every element of Making Camp has been developed and vetted by educators and been through multiple cycles of classroom efficacy testing – meaning we know that our game is effective when it comes to education.

It’s also just fun. You get to build out your own virtual wigwam that you can outfit and customize with cool items that you can trade for by earning points. You can arrange your wigwam however you like – and then, go back and change it all up again! Unlike other apps where you buy virtual currency with real money, in “Making Camp” you earn points by playing the math mini-games. Instead of having to watch mindless ads for a few digital coins, in “Making Camp” you watch interesting videos that teach ways to tackle math problems or explore how the Ojibwe lived.

And this is only the beginning. Our Android app will be out in just a few weeks – and next month, we’ll be rolling out the “Making Camp” Premium Expansion pack, with twice as many activities and wigwam items not to mention a bunch more features for both iPad and Android. And we already have our next app, “Making Camp: Aztec,” in the works! But fortunately, you have an awesome game to keep you entertained (and make you smarter!) between now and then – so what are you waiting for? Start Making Camp today!

If you really love us – we love you! – you’ll forward this to anyone/everyone you think might be interested in because you’re awesome like that.
