What’s up Survivalist’

I’ll tell you what’s up. The Pimps have been locked up in their top secret development crib like Quasimodo chained to their desks determined to get Alpha 2 out this coming week. I can’t speak for the other Pimps but I’m developing a hump on my back from working so many hours. Guess we’ll need to invest in those fancy stand up desks soon. Ok enough flapping my gums here’s a little news to chew on for you starving Survivalist’s out there.

  • We have a brand spanking new forum up and running so give a big virtual internet high five to Brian, Ryan and Shane if you seem them for getting it going!
  • A tip of the Fedora to a couple of new developers we’ve added Robert, Joe and Ben who are already making a big impact on Alpha 2 in programming and animation.
  • We'll do our best to get all you Warriors Backers this build and thank you for being patient.
  • Ok without further ado here are a few Advertised features and some rumored features I heard about on Oprah. I do like Oprah when I get my hair done. Note this is not a full change log or a complete feature list we wouldn’t want to spoil all the surprises we have in store for you. A full change log will be available on release day.
  • Alpha 2 will include:
  • New Game modes including Deathmatch and Zombie Horde mode with several new maps to support these new modes.
  •  A new menu look with bunch of user game mode customization options, a new server browser for finding games easy and a game scoreboard.
  • New items and weapons including crossbows, pipebombs, repair wrenches and more!
  • New enemies including the Acid Puking Hulk, wall climbing Spider Zombies, new zombie sounds and more!
  • New locations in Navezgane including a huge Wasteland City, a new housing development and more!
  • Improved Network protocol for better performance and larger player counts above 8 and NAT punch through for player ran servers as well as dedicated servers.

You stay cool

To everyone that is wondering about the beta access it states
"We'll do our best to get all you Warriors Backers this build and thank you for being patient." . AKA BETA
As for SETTLER you only get the finished game for PC, Mac or Linux+
Not affiliated with Fun Pimps in any way

Wish TFP would give us a bit more bite-sized update info like this just to let us know they are alive. But keep up the great work, with the quality there super early alpha was in, alpha 2 seems like the full blown game. This amount of effort in the early stages represents the massive progress that this game will make.

I love the game play and look forward to more! Do wish the zombie noise could be adjusted without lowering other ambient sounds would be awesome but still awesome!

And again nothing about a Linux port.

Awesome. I played alpha 1 to death. Now I can get back into again. Love this game. Cannot wait for the finished result. Keep up the great work pimps. Peace out. :)

      Sounds exciting.
While I somewhat agree with Chris Pecenka below, you gotta look at that word "ALPHA". The game is still coming together, and it's doing a fine job. Really enjoyed it.
Keep up the good work guys, doing great!

Glad to hear you are still alive. Do you have an estimate for the beta? Not a date of course but will it be weeks or months?
@Charles Bailey: For 15$ it is "The Settler" pledge that give you the finished game. So not until next summer.

I won't play this game again until the zombies are not omnicient. It's a crap game when the zombies know where you are evenwhen you're hiding and haven't made a noise for 5 minutes just because it turns dark. That's a crap game. I don't care what other features are in it zombies being omnicient ruins the game.

I have a question. I sent in some money to fund this project when it was on kickstarter (enough to get the game). Does that mean I get the alpha as well? Plz help. I sent in like $15.

Great to hear of you guys. Lets see if now i can play the game ;)

      Great!
Just need to ask: Whats about linux / steam?

No mapping mouse buttons and better keyboard support yet then? Still unplayable for me unfortunately! :-(
