Surveys and Getting the Game

Hey Survivalist’

There has been a lot of confusion how and when you Alpha Pledge Backers will get the game so here’s the skinny on it.

Amazon Payment Kickstarter Backers - Everyone who backed the game by Amazon payments with an Alpha pledge of $35 or more should have received a survey email last night. If not look in your spam or make sure you know what email is tied to your Kickstarter account. We sent them out and have received responses by about 60% of you on every pledge tier. Our understanding of the this is that all of the surveys must be completed and turned into the good folks of Kickstarter before they can give us your information. That said please fill out your survey promptly, thoroughly and accurately as a simple email typo, wrong name or address can prevent us from getting you the game. And if you bought one of the Alpha packs please know your friend’s emails and names as this can prevent us from getting you the game.

Paypal Payment Backers - Everyone who backed the game by Paypal with an original Pre-Order purchase or an Alpha pledge of $35 or more will receive in the coming hours or days an email with a registration key and instructions on how to register and download the game. We have not sent these out yet so don't think you've missed it. And you will not receive a poll email this is for amazon payment backers.

Emailing US - We apologize for any confusion on this and assure you that getting the Alpha download to all of you is our top priority! We are processing a lot of data and will get you all up and running as soon as possible!

And for now we ask that you please do not email us as answering thousands of additional emails will prevent us from getting you the game. We ask you to be patient a little longer as we get you the game in the coming hours or days!

Paypal Buy Page - And for those of you who have asked our PayPal Buy page will be back up today or tomorrow and stay up after Alpha release for everyone to still buy the pledges they want including Alpha. http://7daystodie.com/buy/

 You stay cool!

My point is, tracking down the 40% isn't worth the time.

    2. Jalister on August 16, 2013

There is no way that all surveys have to be turned in before a project can get that data. There are too many variables that could hold up rewards from everyone else. Vacation, loss of internet, never checks emails, dead, and so on.

Torment has 74,405 backers. Do you really believe that Kickstarter would hold up everything because 1 backer did not respond?

I hope they can figure this survey system out, I doubt every last person would have to complete it for them to get the information from the surveys. Let's hope kickstarter can help them out with their email.

    4. Ryan j. Burke on August 16, 2013

Look at sll of you. You gain information on what's going on and then you try to tell them how to do there job. You better hope there are no repercutions for that. You should all be more careful and a lot more greatful. If the dev team says that only 60 % of the people have done the survey then its time for the masses who are complaning to put there poweres ellse were hunt down those other 40% some one start a comment point. Its very easy. You coild even do a complet survey number chain were people post saying there a number. 1.

Does that mean that the ones of us who did fill out the survey promptly last night will be getting their codes the same time as the paypal ones, "in the coming hours or days an email with a registration key and instructions on how to register and download the game" I really don't think that a few people not doing the survey would hold everyone else hostage from getting their code.
Also, why does it say in the coming hours or days, they should know if it will be in a few hours or days, wouldn't you think?

So for people that pledged by amazon, and one single mofo doesn't fill out his survey, the rest of us will be held behind because of that?

    13. sutekiB on August 16, 2013

I completed the survey as soon as I got it. One thing though, I didn't click the link in the email, I did it directly from KS - it notifies you of a survey request with a yellow banner at the top. That makes no difference right?

I guess u could get a refund then buy with PayPal on fun pimps home page

    15. Jalister on August 16, 2013

I'm giving TFP the benefit of the doubt, this is their first Kickstarter. My previous comment was just to state I believe they either have the wrong information, or have be given the wrong information, and to follow up on it. I'm not one of the backers that demands I get my game yesterday, or even today.

      To the backers...
The 1st rule of Kickstarter, almost no projects deliver on time.
The 2nd rule of Kickstarter, almost no projects deliver on time.
The 3rd rule of Kickstarter, you are not pre-ordering anything.

    16. OtakuKnight on August 16, 2013

I do not mind waiting, and anyone spamming their emails or whining should stop.

However I do expect honesty, accurate information, and proper preparation. So far I have seen a lack of that in the recent correspondence from the team. I honestly don't think I am being unreasonable to expect those from a kickstarter project.

Clearly your interpretation skills are lacking, there is a post board here at their disposal explaining several different ways to help the situation.. i just don't think sending a e-mail to kickstarter is the fastest way to fix the problem.

Thanks for letting us know. Hope you guys figure out the data problem with Kickstarter. Very excited to play this game with my friends. :)

Everyone has a right to be dissatisfied. Perhaps the alpha should have been marked for the 17th or 18th. This is new territory for the company. Please be a bit patient and understanding. It's okay to be a little upset, though screaming bloody murder seems a bit over the edge.

@Amy LittleChild For some reason Amy, people would rather tell the whiney people to shut up. It would appear we haven't paid for a service. I mean, my card got charged, and I have $50 less dollars in my bank account... so that seems like paying.. but with KS, they take your money and, according Daniel Newby, we just have to wait for future rewards maybe. People just can't understand that when someone indicates, not promises, indicates that you will receive something for the money that you gave them then you should complain... cleary I should just be happy that my money is gone and that I will get something sometime... which.. wait.. isn't there a smaller backer plan for that? IF I wanted to wait couldn't I have pledged less money?

    20. Henrik Danielsson on August 16, 2013

Dont want to sound nasty dev but even what you say now i not true as i said in other post my uncles kickstarter project that did not have to wait for 90 % surveys to be sent back before giving out what backers paid for and devs promised ? Dont you think that would be a major flaw if that was true millions would go crazy, it does not work that way no % is needed at all so why lie ?

Creator The Fun Pimps Entertainment LLC 26 minutes ago
Guys I don't know exactly what happens to the surveys or if all backers need to complete them or they wait until 95% are in. All I know is I can't get your data form Kickstarter yet. This is the truth. I am emailing Kickstarter on this feel free to do so as well to speed this up.
Our apologies as this process is new to us too and there's not a lot of information on it
      The Fun Pimps

That is nonsense i am afraid ! what you think that 100 people dont send surveys back then another 13,000 people get blocked out ! lol kickstarter would never ever exist is that was true.

    24. RyanAvx on August 16, 2013

Don't worry Daniel, the lot complaining are probably the immature Minecraft kidz.

    25. Daniel Newby on August 16, 2013

All of you lot complaining in the comments are disgusting.
As for those claiming they 'paid for a service' - you're very incorrect. Kickstarter is a crowdfunding system, you aren't paying for anything. You're supporting projects you believe in for the promise of future rewards.

      "Estimated delivery: Aug 2013"
IT IS STILL AUGUST. IT WILL STILL BE AUGUST FOR TWO WEEKS MORE!
By all means show up to make the same complaints in September but for the love of Zeus put your toys back in the pram and grow up!

Andres Burke is right we all pledged and kickstarter clearly stated that all obligations to finish the product fall upon the Dev, by this explanation the game could still fold up and not make it to final release, we all took the risk. Definetly a mistake/misunderstanding, Fa sho we are gettin alpha soon, just didn't realize the kickstarter process was like this.

    28. Dead Workers Party on August 16, 2013

note to the pimps: please just get the current answers, put them in a db, add a flag for contacted, and serial number for the game... then send them out. Then do another batch tomorrow with the diff. The KS faq says you have this power, so please use it. Thank you : )

I joined this comment section to share my excitement for the game, maybe talk about with some people, because i too, can't wait. But i'm not going to be an ungrateful ahole about it.

Now you've managed to upset me, so i'm going to leave this comment section and wait for my e-mail without making more fuzz like a decent person.

I dont know why you are lying Fun Pimps, but i am very very dissapointed indeed with this nonsense. If you are having other issues just be honest ? There is reason that you dont just send all us who have put faith in your dev team the alpha keys and download ?

Do you really think thy are going to type every single email in outlook or gmail web client... I'm pretty sure they are going to dump all email addresses into [my]sql database and run php/perl script that will generate and send out all emails. If script like that is ready then it is no more then 20 minutes of work for them (and few hours for script to send those 13k-15k emails)...

Kickstarter is one to be blamed for delay and I truly believe it will take weeks if they need to have 100% surveys completed :(

So who is going to start petition on change.org ;)

You think this is something new? Games and other entertainment products get delayed all the time. There's no law breaking here, and by the looks of it, this seems to be a misunderstanding and/or an honest mistake that will no doubt be fixed.

And by the way, they never promised you the game the second the Kickstarter finished. It also says here on the right side of the page "Delivery: Aug 2013. August isn't over yet.

    35. Jalister on August 16, 2013

I actually find it very hard to believe that all surveys have to be turned in before the projects get the details. In this scenario, 1 backer could prevent 13,875 from getting their rewards. Statistically speaking, it is actually probable that 1 of the 13,876 backers could have died since they backed this project. If that happens, I guess we are all screwed.

I suggest checking with Kickstarter again.

    36. Shane Gorrell on August 16, 2013

Keep Calm, STFU,fill out your survey and then wait. Its that simple.

@Jani Ya, its completely unreasonable that people who have paid for a service and then have been promised a delivery date, to just ignore the fact that the delivery date has come and gone and they still don't have WHAT THEY PAID FOR. This aren't people making demands, these are people who just want what they were told their money is going to buy them..
