The Birdhouse Center for the Arts is located in the heart of Lambertville NJ. Lambertville is a city that attracts talented artisans, musicians, historians, shop owners, and a plethora of eclectic patrons. With the assortment of talented people that reside and travel through the city, the Birdhouse is a place where professionals and amateurs can establish a common ground. The center is a place where anyone can come to foster connections through our programming.
- What does the community have to look forward to at the Birdhouse Center for the Arts?
Participating in master mini concerts/student recitals, educational/multi-cultural workshops, art/dance courses, seasonal family events, music lessons, music therapy services and much more!
- What does the Birdhouse Center for the Arts look and feel like inside?
The space is a barn that at one time was used to house the donkeys and/or mules that forded the Delaware River/Canals. That center has been renovated with new shiny hardwood floors, and is equipped with heating and air-conditioning. The barn-style ceiling beams present a rustic vibe while the internal renovations provide a new age appearance. The use of our six-car parking lot is also a benefit to patrons.
We plan to officially re-open the Birdhouse Center for the Arts in September 2013. In order for us to efficiently provide our services, we need your help in making the building more accessible to patrons. We already own the building that houses the Birdhouse however, we need your contributions as we begin to coordinate artists, schedule programming, run water to the building, install a handicapped bathroom, acquire materials, and gather musical instruments.
Our grand opening celebration in September is right around the corner! We will be honoring our supporters at this special event so please contribute what you can to our project to help make this celebration happen! More details pertaining to the grand opening will be released in weeks to come as we don’t want to give away all of the surprises. We can say for sure that the celebration will be a memorable evening of epic music, local artistry, fine food, and culture.
The Birdhouse is “Your Center for the Arts.” Support the center and help us dedicate a space where people of all ages and abilities can come to build connections through holistic arts and empowering experiences.
Risks and challenges
We are in the process of planning/establishing our programming for September 2013. Project delays will impact our ability to efficiently launch our fall services such as concerts, classes, family-based events, lessons, and much more. Your contributions will allow us to begin our programming as it is planned accordingly.
Another challenge for this project is acquiring and learning about the necessary permits that allow us to open an establishment that is safe, accessible, and that adheres to current legal standards. If we reach our goal, we will be able to ensure that our owned establishment is accessible to everyone and up to code.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
