Everyone LOVES these dodecahedrons, so we thought we'd share the love with others. We've made them with Cub Scouts, family, friends, and even random neighborhood kids who stopped by while we were making them (they could use some stranger danger training...).
These make awesome low-cost stocking stuffers or gifts.
Included in the kit are 4 different top pieces so that you can use the finished dodecahedron in a number of ways...
You can also assemble it inside out so our logo doesn't show and you can draw / color / label it however you want. (We should have our new logo before we ship though).
We are also working on STEAM resources and even a lesson plan for how to use this in classroom settings.
They are about 4" tall, and are made precise enough that they fit together tight and require no glue to hold them together. We even had someone who weighs 350 lbs stand on one once for testing without a problem (for a few seconds at-least).
My wife and I have made a lot of cool educational toys. This is our first foray into Kickstarter and we're hoping to make this a regular thing and possibly even start making educational toys and games full-time.
Risks and challenges
We already have the materials, the equipment, and have been making these things for a few years for family and friends. Barring a natural disaster that erases Oregon from the map and kills our entire team we should get these delivered before Christmas. We are doing this as a kickstarter so that we can run our first "batch" and not just make them one at a time.
If we got thousands of backers we may have a hard time getting enough wood before Christmas.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
