The Night Delivery
Is a story that brings you to places less traveled. Where tales of creatures that stalk through the night are all too real. A place where the normal meets the abnormal and the peace and security of your everyday life ceases to exist. This, in all likelihood, will be the last delivery you ever make.
The Night Delivery follows Max, Bryce and Rich, three disgruntled grocery employees as they make the last delivery of the day. For some time they have used their position to steal from unsuspecting customers while inside their homes. But what they do not know, is their disingenuous behavior has caught the attention of a demonic creature, the Akoman.
Despite reservations from Max, the group reaches their destination. They quickly split into two groups, Max will check on the deranged homeowner, Ramsey, while Bryce and Rich find the valuables.
As Max begins his ascension to the second floor, he stumbles upon a horrific sight. The Akoman has already laid claim to Ramsey's body and mind. Stumbling from the room in search of his coworkers he fails to realize they are already in a fight for their own lives. That's when things go from bad, to worse.
Why tell this story?
It is the goal of Monster Tale Films to get back to some of the exciting and original filmmaking that was done throughout our childhood. Using practical effects and engaging storytelling, we hope to bring some of that back. It is our mission to not only entertain, but ignite the imagination in each one of us. And who doesn't like to be scared?
As with every short project we undertake, feature versions exist of each film. While it is rarely a given that these shorts are turned into features, creating the excitement and buzz around such content can sometimes catapult you into full-length projects. The Night Delivery falls into that category.
Being born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area I routinely find myself heading back up north to film. This is one of those instances. While we have some crew members coming from Southern California, most will be from the San Francisco area, including our cast. We're proud to be involved in that filmmaking community and look forward to announcing the talent who will portray the roles above. Updates coming soon!
About the Writer/Director:
Scott O'Hara received his B.A. in Political Science from St. Mary's College of California. During this time he continued taking classes at the Academy of Art University as well as the Film Arts Foundation in San Francisco. After writing and directing numerous short films over the next several years, Scott packed up and moved to Southern California to pursue his film career in the more localized setting of Los Angeles. Scott recently finished the horror short film RISE, which will soon be released for online viewing in the weeks to come.

Risks and challenges
The risks facing The Night Delivery are like most films. Below are examples of what we will face moving forward.
Weather: Some of The Night Delivery is shot outside. With El Nino doing it's dance over much of Northern California so far this year, we're hoping for a clear and pleasant weekend come filming time. If rain decides to smile on us, we will be prepared with various options to either continue shooting, or bring the production indoors to complete filming. But it does create a tiny bit of stress!
SFX Make-Up: We are extremely fortunate to have George working on the SFX Make-Up and creature design. While he is highly skilled at his craft, creating monsters is always time consuming, expensive and hard work. Constant vigilance needs to be given during creature development and execution, and we're excited to see what he can achieve.
Equipment: It is expensive to make a film. We are going to be shooting with a RED camera package or something comparable. A camera and lighting package can be costly. Our challenge is to acquire equipment at a reasonable rate so we can put more budget into the set design and have money for post-production as well.
Crew: As with our last project, much of those involved in the film do so by sacrificing their usual rates and pay. Because of this, we're faced with potential scheduling conflicts. The more funding we are able to raise, the more this problem fades, but it will be a challenge we will all work toward minimizing.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
