ABOUT THE PROJECT
We're looking to bring to Las Vegas the best musical comedy horror EVER!
We want to bring EVIL DEAD: The Musical! to Las Vegas - and we want to do it right! The team behind this production are familiar with the show and have staged other fan favorites such as DR. HORRIBLE'S SING-ALONG BLOG, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, and CANNIBAL THE MUSICAL, so you know the fans will be satisfied - as well as people completely unfamiliar with the source material.
This is intended to be a Halloween 2011 project, and will run Thursdays through Sundays 10/13 - 10/30 at 8pm with a special Halloween performance on Monday 10/31 at 8pm! We are even considering some midnight shows for those looking for some late night fun in Sin City.
We want to keep prices low so that as many fans of the show can see it as possible, and to help offset the revenue generated by potential ticket sales we are asking you to help us bring this show to the stage.
We'll be staging the show at The Onyx Theatre in Las Vegas, just a couple of blocks from the Las Vegas Strip on Sahara. It's a great venue with stadium-style seating for 98 people so there's not a bad seat in the house. Forget those monstrous theatres where the only reasonably priced seats are in the nosebleed section. We want EVERYONE to be able to enjoy what's going on in this show.
Just like the very best EVIL DEAD productions, ours will feature a splatter zone and oodles of blood, gore, and campy comedy that anyone in the Halloween spirit will be able to sink their fangs into.
WHY WE NEED THE HELP
We need the money to offset costs to stage the show right. Yes, we can put the show up and have people use sock puppets and ketchup, but we'll be boo'ed out of town! plus, that would not do the show justice and it would be insulting to our audience!
The 2 companies co-producing the show are small, non-profit community theatre production companies and need all the help they can get to mount this bad boy. All proceeds are tax-deductible!
Where the money is to be spent: royalties for the show, all the props (such as the chainsaw, heads, hands, evil trees, a giant evil moose, etc), costumes, a great deal of special effects makeup and, well, TONS of blood!
And keep in mind that all money you give us towards funding is tax-deductible!LINKS

Yes! This is EVIL DEAD The Musical after all, not Oklahoma! Persons who buy splatter zone tickets will also receive a t-shirt, perfect for soaking in all the blood.
We will also have garbage bags for sale for those persons not interested in getting the full 4D effect.
There is coarse language, violent situations, and a great deal of blood sprayed during this show. Not to mention the horror aspects with demons and zombies and an evil moose.
So while we would not restrict anyone from attending, we recommend that you be at least 10 years old. This is a show intended for persons who can handle mature themes.
Also, we ask that parents leave their infants and toddlers at home. Unless they want them scarred for life, of course.
Here is the basic breakdown of costs for the show:
1. Royalties - $3,300
2. Special effects makeup - $1,500
3. Sound system - $1,000
4. Costumes - $300
5. Blood - $500
6. Set construction - $900
7. Props - $500
8. Makeup, etc - $400
These are just basic items, the very minimum we need to pull the show off, and these are the lower end of the numbers. Obviously, the more money we raise, the better the show will be!
