Children respond to the joy in which we present things. They have a natural wonder about the world!
All Catholic parents want their children to engage in the beauty of the Mass and Catholic worship. Yet, it's hard to tap into this excitement from the pew. In these times, we're often teaching reverence, and the child can't relish in the elements up close.
Light of Sunday invites all children and their guides to experience the articles of Catholic worship up close through crisp photography and explore the mysteries together! This book was created to help parents and catechesists respond (in a simple, joyful way!) to the call that, "education in the faith by the parents should begin in the child's earliest years" (CCC 2226).
Welcome, brothers and sisters in Christ! We pray this book is a blessing to you and your domestic church.
In Christ,
Geena, Katrina, and the Light of Sunday team

The Artists: 16 creatives from across the USA, inspired by one mission
Light of Sunday is the labor of Catholic laity who love Christ, our children, and our Church. We pray that this book will guide little ones to Christ and welcome them into deeper participation in the Mass.

Geena Harrington is the writer and dreamer of Light of Sunday.
She is a former elementary teacher, mother to two (with one more on the way), one of ten children, and is married to Brad, who is proudly from an even BIGGER Catholic family (he's the third of twelve, and very competitive). When Geena married Brad she was blessed in more ways than one! She gained Katrina as a sister-in-law...
Katrina Harrington is the watercolor artist of Light of Sunday.
She is floral obsessed and married to Chris (Brad's oldest brother). They have four children who love to see how charismatic (read: wild) they can be in Mass. When Geena shared her dream of creating Light of Sunday, Katrina claimed the first spot in line to buy it. Both Geena and Katrina love hidden meanings so this book has plenty of that through floral choices inspired by the historical religious names of flowers. She is counting down the days until her children hold this book in their pudgy hands as it nurtures their sweet hearts toward Christ.

Jamie Wheeler is the graphic designer of Light of Sunday.
She is a graphic arts teacher and designer for Mount de Sales Academy, a Catholic high school. She is also a wife, and - most recently - a godmother! She is eager to share this book with her goddaughter and best friends' children.

- Denise Massa, who worked tirelessly to help extract photos
- Elizabeth Horgan, who researched and calculated until the early hours of the morning to help bring the Kickstarter to life
- Fr. Richard (from Church of the Nativity, Rancho Santa Fe, CA) and Fr. Todd (from St. Joseph Catholic Church, Issaquah, WA), who enthusiastically believed in this project and allowed us to photograph the sacred Mass articles
Kickstarter Funds: Where do they go?
This Kickstarter will raise funds for artist, printing, fulfillment, and Kickstarter fees.
The Kickstarter will also raise funds for our rockstar graphic designer, Jamie, who will finalize the book's design over the next six weeks. All poetry, watercolor, and photography is complete and organized in the book's 24-pages, but it needs Jamie's touch to make this book the best it can be. With this timeline, when our Kickstarter is complete and funds from Kickstarter are released, we will go to print straight away!
International Backers
We love our universal Church! Due to cost and complexity, we do not offer international shipping through the Kickstarter. If you are international and would like books, please reach out to Geena at hello@lightofsunday.com. We can't wait to share Light of Sunday with you and your community. Thank you!
Wholesale
For questions regarding wholesale, please reach out to Geena at hello@lightofsunday.com.
Risks and challenges
This is a nonprofit passion project. The biggest challenges to this project are financial and fulfillment. A successful Kickstarter campaign will enable us to print and fulfill all backer rewards. We will use a fulfillment center to deliver books into your hands as quickly and efficiently as possible! If funded, we are confident that we can deliver all rewards on time.
Looking beyond: After our Kickstarter rewards are fulfilled, we plan to take a break to prepare for the arrival of our third baby (due 2/2/19). We anticipate the shop opening in mid-2019, but are open to wherever the Lord takes this project.
Thank you for your support of this project through your pledges and prayers! God Bless you, friends!
