Meteor is a PvP indie game using RPG and Shooter mechanics in a MOBA style genre. Take on the challenge to master your favorite Warlord or Guardian weapon to defeat your enemies either alone, with a team or free-for-all-across our multiple available game modes and maps.

The Warlords are the chiefs of their clans.They are living on the different planet of Zukrok. Some are allied and some are enemies, but due to the new threat against Zukrok, a truce has been established and more and more clans are joining their force together--but much more is still missing. From now on, they spend all of their time training on different battlegrounds for the incoming biggest fight Zukrok has ever known.

Each Warlord has a unique fighting style ranging from weaponry, explosives, abilities and much more.

Each Warlord has: 

  • 10 Abilities
  • 1 Ultimate
  • 1 Passive

- Statistics:

Health Points: Each Warlord has its own amount of HP depending on their role and play style.

Armor Type: There are four different armor types:

  • Weak: 25% additional damage taken
  • Medium: 10% additional damage taken
  • Strong: Normal damage taken
  • Heavy: Damage taken reduced by 15%

- Energy:

There are different energy types that the Warlords use such as Focus, Haste and void.

- Mobility: 

Sprint:  The Warlords can sprint by using their endurance. Once the endurance bar is empty, it will regenerate over time.

Note: The endurance of a Warlord is affected by its armor type.

Directional Dash: Directional Dash allows a Warlord to move in a short distance in one of the four directions (forward, backward, left, right). The Warlords have two directional dash charges. The charges will regenerate over time. It can be useful to dodge enemy attacks. 

 

The Guardians are an independent group of aliens that existed before part of the Clans. They refused the Warlords authority and are now living and training together. They are a nomadic group and are constantly in movement from one planet to another. The Warlord Clan and the Guardians aren't officially at war, but the Guardians need the Clans resources so they often steal from them to survive. Since the truce, the Warlords don't have time to fight back and the Guardians are taking advantage of it. Since only the Warlords have powers, the Guardians can only fight with their rage and weapons--weapons often stolen from the Clans. They are fighting their own war for what they believe in and they call themselves the Guardians.

- Statistics: 

Every Guardian has the same amount of health points.

- Mobility: 

Sprint: The Guardians can sprint with no limitations due to their light equipment.

Warlords: 

Most of the Warlord abilities do not require a target, you can use them at any moment and only your skill & aim will determine if you hit an other Warlord with it. Some of the abilities require a target for a special effect, such as Hïra who has an ability that allows her to switch her position with an ally. Except in a few cases, we wanted to create a fully free aim PvP for a totally skilled base gaming experience.  

When playing a Warlord, you can switch from traditional third person to third person shooter mode just by pressing one key.  

The particularity of the Warlords is that depending on the current combat mode, their abilities work differently.

For example:  

Projectiles:  

 - Third Person: The projectile moves in a straight line in front of the Warlord.

- Third Person Shooter: The projectile is going in the facing direction using a crosshair at the middle of the screen.

Mobility:  

- Third Person: A dash, for example, will make the Warlord move in a straight line in front of him.

- Third Person Shooter : A dash will make the Warlord move in the facing direction and allow you to go up or down to dodge an attack or reach certain locations of the map.

Switching from one combat mode to another allows the player to perfectly adapt to each situation depending on where your enemy is.

 

Guardians:

When playing a Guardian, you are in third person shooter mode.

 

 Meteor currently has two options to join a battleground:  

1. Random Matchmaking:  

- Join a match of the game mode & versus mode selected with random players.  

2. Private Room:  

- Join/Create a private room of the game mode & versus mode selected.  

- Players can join the room by typing the name the room creator choose.

- Players can switch teams. 

- The room creator can manually choose the map from the different maps available for this game mode.

The maps are individual battlegrounds, each with their own lore. They are on the different planets of Zukrok. 

The maps are either designed specially for one game mode or for multiple game modes.

Let's discover some of them:

 Hangar is an ancient station that was once used to refuel the spaceships. After a tragic accident, the area was contaminated and from now on it is not safe to stay in the area for too long. The Warlords now use it as a battlefield for short training missions.

 The Ice Station is on the planet Fras' where the people from the Yioka and Zifra clans live. In this fortress, the clans living on Fras' chose and celebrated their Warlord.

The Reactor is on the planet Korv where the people from Freya, Krankz, Hestia and Krek clans live. Like the Ice Station, this place was used to chose and celebrate the Warlord of their clan. Zukrok's highest temperature is at the Reactor. This is one of the most appreciated battlegrounds of the Warlords since the conditions makes the fight even harder and they train harder under the intense conditions.

Only the craziest dare to join the fight in the Void. The floor is made of multiple platforms that can fall at any moment.

Specificity of this map: The ground is falling over time, watch your steps!

Game mode: Arena

 

 

 

Situated on Arb at the middle of the huge mushroom forest, you can find a refuge that was before used by the clans to have shelter and be safe during expeditions. Hïra is the Warlord of one of the clans living on Arb.

Situated on Irsa, the Cave was a clandestine training area of the Guardians, now that Voidkar (one of Irsa Warlords) took it back with the help of Roshgav, they sometimes use it to train in turn.

Long time ago this Garnison was used by the people of Korv to develop new weapons and robots before a tragic event occurred. A spaceship with Azrak and some of his people inside crashed and no one survived. It was a tragedy for the people of Korv, but ever since this day they decided to fight in their honor in this area.

This huge factory replaced the Garnison for Korv's people. Bigger and much more sophisticated, this is where they create their new weapons and robots. Every new mech of Zukror has been designed and created here. The mechs require a lot of testing and since the Warlords need to train, they combined both in a special battleground that takes place in The Secret Factory.

The War Zone of Irsa is an isolated island that is constantly contested by the Warlords and by the Guardians. Since the truce, the Warlords no longer spend their time fighting for it, but they still use it for training hoping that the Guardians won't arrive at the same time.

Zarkus is a planet composed at 99% of water, the remaining 1% is a huge battleground with multiple villages and different biomes. No one lives on Zarkus, but this is where the biggest battle occurs known as The Last One Standing. There are many surprises and a lot to explore on Zarkus.

In Meteor. every game mode is available to play in non-competitive modes, but if you prefer to climb the ladders and show your enemies who is the best, the Coliseum is for you!

Game Mode Rank:

The game mode rank is determined by multiple parameters:

  • Ability to reach the Game Mode objective
  • Positioning on the objective
  • Your objective participation no matter if the match was won or lost
Warlord Rank: 
The Warlord rank is determined by multiple parameters :

  • Warlord performance
  • Warlord role execution
  • Combo with your own abilities or your teammates 
  • Kill / Death Ratio
  • Damage dealt / Damage taken / Healing done
  • Ability accuracy
Global Rank:

The global rank is combines all competitive statistics.

Competitive Seasons:

The competitive seasons last for two months. 


Rewards: 

During and after each season, unique rewards will be unlocked for the players depending on how well their performances were.


Important:
The Players / Teams with the highest rank for any of the categories at the end of a season will be in a short animated dedicated to them shared to the entire community. 


 

Everything you have read above is fully implemented in game and playable, but here let's talk about what is in development or planned for Meteor.

The Meteors (Community Platform):

This is a project that is really important for us since we really care about what the community wants or thinks. We want you to always be satisfied and part of the development of Meteor.

What is "The Meteors"?

We want to develop a platform on web and in game dedicated to Meteor development where the community will be heard and will be able to give it's opinion or suggestions.

Let's see the two main features of this project: 

Suggest new content:

Everybody will have the opportunity to post a proposal for new content or changes in the game. The community will then vote for what they think would be best to have in Meteor. Every week the post most supported by the community will be read and taken into consideration. Afterwards, the developers analyze whether it will or will not be implemented in game. As long as the idea is constructive and we think it would be a good asset for Meteor, it will be in game.

Feedback on updates:

Before and after each new patch the major changes made to the game will be listed and the community will be able to vote if they are satisfied with the changes or not. This way it may give us a clear idea of what is a positive change for Meteor.

Brawls: 

The Brawls will be a way for us to implement new game modes or game mechanics into Meteor without changing the current one for testing reasons. The players will be able to play it and depending on the community opinion, it will or will not be implemented in the actual game.

Presentation : I was working as a programmer and working on Meteor during my free time. Meteor quickly required much more time and due to the awesome feedback and support received from the people playing the game, along the development process, I started to work full time on it.

- Martin Yordanov : 

Role : Community Manager / Quality Control / Marketing

Presentation : Guild leader of Anarchy inc a 17 years old clan/community that has been around during the best PvP games, I met Thomas who was already working on Meteor and I liked the project. Along side my community we decided to push it forward and extract all the current possibilities involved into creating the best PvP game with the best PvP experience/Mechanics.

The Meteor team is really small at the moment and we don't have the money required to give the game the launch it deserves. We spent thousand of hours on this project to make the best game possible to present, but what we want for Meteor is much bigger that what it is now.  For this reason, we need more people working with us such as artists for new 3D models, animations, sounds, music and much more.

We spent our money and time in Meteor because we believe in it more than anything and we believe that other people will too. With the Kickstarter community supporting the game everything may become a reality and we will be able to deliver an innovative gaming experience for all of you to enjoy!

 

 

 

Details:

Custom Games : 

Adding a new menu to create custom games. In custom games, the creator can choose :

  • Objectives & score limit
  • Player stats (HP, Energy, Ultimate generation, damage, heals etc..)
  • Amount of players in each team or FFA

Once a custom game is created it will appear in a lobby where all current custom games will be displayed for other players to join.

Players can create their own "mini-game modes" and the settings will be saved for other players who want to play this mode. If one of your own game modes is appreciated and played by other players, you will be rewarded.

New Warlords & Guardians models : 

- We like the current models but what we have in mind is much better and bigger. We want the Warlords model to be more representative of them and more unique.

Animations Rework & New Animations : 

- We want to improve the current character animations and to add more special animations for any character actions/abilities in the game.

Playable Lore : 

- Implementation of new multiplayer game modes that are lore-based. Enter the lore by accomplishing the objectives in multiple scenarios to learn more about Zukrok and its universe.

In Game Lore Events : 

- Limited time events immersing the players in important moments in Zukrok's past and present history. We don't want to reveal too much about it, but it is a huge endeavor and we have amazing ideas to share with you.

 

Risks and challenges

Meteor has a big amount of different game modes & versus modes, the biggest challenge for us is to have as many players as possible so we can provide low duration queue times for all the game modes so everybody can play what they enjoy most without having to wait too long to find a game. We believe in you and with your support and shares of the campaign, the Meteor army will be huge!
