Have you ever wondered that there might be a shoe for every occasion? The same shoe to wear at work, shopping with friend or go clubbing and why not…also for travelling? The “Albertine” shoes mixes the quality of a production full made in italy, with natural materials and fine handicraft leather, and innovation granted by a mechanical safe hooking system, conceived using material used in the aicraft industry, that give the possibility of exchangeable hill and plateau.
2. The Project - ALBERTINE EVERYWEAR YOURS
The Albertine project, born in 2008, has a main challenge: Create women shoes, with interchangeable hill and plateau, conceived to let every women experiment the thrilling experience of playing, provoking and seducing with our shoe in different day-time.
Before today’s finished product was attained, five years of studies, tests, prototypes, safety crash tests and continual modifications were needed. The winning move for the creation of Albertine shoes, was to co-opt Italian craftsmen and their experience.
The first Albertine prototype it looks like a piece of wood, but it holds inside the first artisan-made gears for the interchanging of the two parts.
The next step was to take this artisan prototype and turn it into intermediate prototypes with a shape and the materials of a shoe, though obviously the studies were mainly concentrated on the exchange mechanism on the platform, the “Upper”. The today upper has a very carefully tested internal mechanism able to resist anything striking from any direction.
The Alexandra Alberta Chiolo project became a reality after years of study and experimentation focused on production through our collaboration with Italian shoe-makers of excellence. These are people who show the great professionalism of Italian craftsmen on a daily basis. Italian research and artisan craftsmanship have always been an essential element in order to fulfill the company’s mission.
Tradition and Innovation summarize the essence of our brand. Albertine shoes are the outcome of the fusion of a centuries old tradition of artisan craftsmanship in the regions of Emilia and the Marche and advanced applied technologies from the aeronautics and mechanical sectors.
Quality of Materials
The uppers in brushed black calf-skin are made of the finest Italian leather. The heels and the platforms are made of ABS, a high-tech material which is highly resistant to impact and which has been tested over and over again to guarantee maximum safety to the user. The mechanical parts are cast in anodized steel to ensure long-term durability and resistance to corrosion, while the platform release button is entirely made of nylon fiber to guarantee its lightness and resistance to wear and tear.
The 2.0 Marketing Choice to Sell Exclusively On-line
We love to call Albertine “shoes 2.0” as they are, a dynamic object which needs interaction with its user to become whole with its structure. We’ve pushed the same concept for sales on the website alexandraalbertachiolo.com, giving our client a chanche to configure her first virtual experience in composition.
Prices vary depending on the type of processing and on the finishes for the heels and the platforms. In this way, the user can freely play with her idea, and put together her favorite shoe, while at the same time making her choice based on how much she wants to spend. In this way she does not just design her shoe, but also its price. In addition, on-line sales allow for the AlexandraAlbertaChiolo brand to reach out everywhere, and therefore ensure that it is known and appreciated in a widespread and more economical manner with respect to a traditional sales network. Though, of course, we have had to set up our own warehouse.

4. Backer rewards
Risks and challenges
After years of in-dept study and experimentation focused on production through our partnership with Italian excellence shoe-makers “Albertine” project became reality.
Our main challenge was related to manufacturers scouting activity, as we sought those which had the readiness and competence to cooperate in a start-up project considered “visionary”.
This activity ended up lengthening the time necessary for production, and forced us to make an extra effort to identify the most appropriate and competent suppliers to involve in the project.
Nonetheless the adverse economic trend in Italy made research yet more complicated, and we were forced to exclude some artisan craftsmen who, although highly qualified, were struggling in economic difficulty, in order to avoid delay and stand-by on our production chain.
At this stage of the project we’re fully confident on a solid supply chain, that is 100% “made in Italy”, and on design structure, internal and innovative, we’ve already produced prototypes and we’ve signed agreement with reliable and stable suppliers in order to delivery on time the products to our backers.
We are currently assessing all issues related to product shipping from Italy to all the world to let every girl have a pair of Albertine in her wardrobe.
Our team is ready to answer any question or doubt and proactively solve any issue may arise as quickly as possible.
