Big Bang!" is a documentary film that investigates
the question of whether faith and science can get along, or are they eternally
destined to be sworn enemies. Does the Big Bang Theory automatically disqualify
the possibility of an Intelligent Design by an all omnipotent God? And does the
belief in an Intelligent Design by an all omnipotent God automatically
disqualify the possibility of the Big Bang? This premise will serve as the
driving force behind the film. Does the Holy Bible’s description of creation
fit with what we know from physics and science?
The documentary will be
partially narrated, but will ultimately be host driven along with experts in
their respective fields that will serve as contributors. Animations and
NASA/Hubble footage will add to the graphically aesthetic nature of the film. We will also include footage from the host’s own telescope and
astrophotography that will be shot for the documentary, to create that
“backyard astronomer” kind of feel.
Both secular and Christian
physicists, scientists and astronomers will be interviewed and their views will
be presented. Priests, Pastors, Rabbis, and Atheists will also be interviewed
for the film. The most up to date research and discoveries will be presented.
Alternate theories of creation and the start of the universe will also be
explored. Does accepting an “old earth” perspective take away from the creation
story in Genesis?
beautiful images of stars, planets, clusters, nebulae and galaxies will be
featured to display the glory and majesty of the universe. The film will refute
and/or challenge the view that the cosmos was created by random chaos. In the
end, it will be shown that the universe was designed with purpose and in the
way the Bible describes. Special focus will be given to Bible verses that
mention astronomical objects and events.
God’s Big Bang Section
Section 1 – Introduction to our Solar System
In this section we will explore some of the most amazing
facts and attributes about earth. We’ll be analyzing the importance of gravity,
oxygen, water, atmosphere and distance from the sun. We’ll talk about man’s
desire to explore our solar system. There will be animations that feature both
star and planetary comparisons. Then we’ll move out into the Milky Way and talk
about the number of stars and possible planets in our own galaxy. Calculations
will be presented on the possibility of inter-planetary and inter-galactic
travel based on our current level of technology. How big is our sun compared to
other stars in the galaxy and known universe? How big is the Milky Way in
comparison to neighbouring galaxies? Much time will be spent observing nebulae,
star clusters and other wondrous deep space objects.
Section 2 – The Coolest Things in the Universe
This section will feature stunning videos and photos as well
as expert interviews as we explore some of the most amazing objects in the
known universe. We’ll explore such phenomena as super-novae, cosmic microwaves,
nebulae, dark energy and matter, neutrinos, quasars, neutron stars, pulsars and
Section 3 – The 10 Top Things Man Believed That Turned Out
Not to be True
In this section we’ll explore various topics that at one
time were scientific absolutes but over time as man acquired knowledge and
information, things began to change. Items such as the world being flat;
Neptune being an invisible planet; comets being harbingers of doom; Einstein’s
belief in a fixed universe; that atoms could not be divided; quarks did not
exist; celestial immutability; a heliocentric solar system; and more.
Section 4 – Exploring Theories of How the Universe Began
While there are literally dozens of theories that exist,
such as black hole theory, time’s arrow, brane and the no time theory—In this section
we will focus and feature on the top three theories of the origins of the universe:
A) That God created the universe. B) The universe created itself—The Big Bang.
C) The universe has always existed.
Section 5 – What Does the Bible Say About the Creation of
In this final section of the film, we will explore what the Holy
Bible has to say about the creation of the universe and the very world that we
live in. Most people will be surprised to learn how much the Bible has to say
on the matter. In ancient times, people were very aware of the stars above
them. We’re going to test the scriptures that deal with creation against what
we know in modern science and physics.
After analyzing all the theories and listening to all the
experts and looking at all the deep space objects, we must ask ourselves one
question…What’s easier to believe? …that the universe started itself from
nothing? …or that an omnipotent God created the universe? Which takes more
faith . . . ?
