What is a prototype?

A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

Proof of Concept

Explorations that test ideas and functionality.

Functional Prototype

Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.

Appearance Prototype

Looks like the final product, but is not functional.

Design Prototype

Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

Production Prototype

Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

About

Hello makers!

We have been building cnc controlled machines for a while now. We have started with a custom built cartesian 3D printer, to go towards custom built universal cartesian robots (Shapeoko style). We also work using Delta printers from SeeMeCNC.

At this point in time we have found a way how to advance our designs further with a special aluminium extruded profile. We have called it the iSlide.

This profile would enable us to build better machines. Because we like the idea of sharing we would like to promote this technology and give this in the hands of other skilled designers so our builds will be better and better.

To do this we need your help. We will use the money to develop this into a full scale product using professional suppliers of aluminium extrusion profiles. We would also use it develop the company further, providing new robots to the small and medium enterprises and individuals.

Risks and challenges

In terms of work on the actual product the management of a company consist of a mechanical engineering designer with two years of experience in the industry therefore risks are mitigated. We will work with professional suppliers of aluminium extruded profiles to develop a product.
