Eye-catching picture to draw attention and make you read further:
Femida is a detective game for PC, MAC, and Linux. In this game, you play the role of a judge(first judge simulator ever!) in a fictional country. There are no guidelines on how to sentence. Everything is left to your own discretion. We aim to deliver the game in summer 2017, however, some scope creeps may occur. The delivery dates stated in the rewards section cover any possible delays. Give it a try!

Keep in mind the demo version has been made only for a rough demonstration of concept and art style. The demo features 5 endings and it is a little story on its own. It is a fiction. We know that a trial is NOT conducted this way. After the game gets funded, we will totally revise it.
The full game will feature a non-linear story with multiple endings to ensure replayability and an exclusive experience. We are preparing branching story lines to make every playthrough unique.
Our insane screenwriters were inspired by Divine Comedy and Plato's Republic. Expect to go through deadly sins, different levels of the Hell and questioning morality as well as nature of justice.
The story of the game takes place in a fictional country that has recently gone from one social order to another. The country is experiencing changes in ideology, legislation, and anarchy of the transition period. The judicial system functions with more freedom and less control. In the game, you play the character of a judge who had been recently promoted to solve more severe cases. The story will span across entire life of your character. The entire life of your character in the best-case scenario means until the point of retirement. The worst-case scenario is being killed by someone who doesn't approve the way you sentence. The player will get to interact with different characters including family, co-workers etc.
Powerful families, influential organizations, and other serious folk will try to bribe, threaten, or even pressurize you. Wealthy people will get better lawyers and bribe your co-workers. The concerned parties are going to visit, call or send letters to you in an attempt to sway the judgment of your character. Your family is struggling to survive because of economic crisis. Will you able to survive a righteous life until a better future? Is taking bribes to amass instant wealth for those you love, fair? Is abundance for your family and hell for the state or just, but hard ways, a better way toward a brighter future? Of course, most of the cases you come across are not going to be black & white. There will be cases that are resolved differently in different countries. For example, the father of a family shot the intruder who sneak into his house. Considering the fact that the castle doctrine is not used in many countries, this case can be argued in various circumstances. Total absence of jury along with the superiority of other branches of power, will put you in ever more vulnerable positions.
The game will consist of 7 crime cases with a more intriguing process of solving them. There also will be nonlinear stories told in a visual novel (more like in a comic's fashion) style with QTE. That's will make the most of the gameplay. This stories will partially determine the ending and engage you into the life of your character.
Decisions made throughout the game will influence your character’s life as well as the world around you. Outside of the building, some event may occur depending on the cases you solve. Depending on the consequences, the city can turn from normal into paradise or hell.
The game hugely focuses on consequences. Some examples:
• When you imprison the single-parent who is raising a child alone, you may get young offender in the future.
• By sentencing a maniac to short period of time you may have him hunting down your family after his release
Example of moral decision: Your family member is taken as a hostage by a friend of the politician currently being prosecuted. Will your sacrifice your child for a greater justice?
The main gameplay of the full game basically consists of your choices:
• Plenty dialog options to pick while talking to your family, friends, co-workers, secretary, interns, etc
• Shed light on the case by asking right questions in the court
• Decide whether the case is admissible or not; is the defendant guilty or innocent
• If guilty, for how long to sentence him and what kind of punishment to use?
The final game will feature social encounters with characters not only via phone calls but also face-to-face, in order to dive deeply into the life of your character.
To sum up, the game involves a lot of moral choices and consequences along with various kinds of mysteries. The whole game is not one large mystery, but rather, a series of decision making and mystery solving. Why do we do this? To bring to the fore various important messages: How the justice is defined differently. What is considered rightful for one is not fair for another. How flawed it is that we judge others without enough information. To demonstrate how easy it is to misjudge someone even with sufficient information. How those who wield power escape from justice. Considering what we have seen, a fair judicial system is an essential key to a prosperity of society.
It is a relaunch of the previous project. To decrease the funding goal we cut some planned features and duration of the game but we still can implement them if we reach:
We will certainly listen to each backer while designing game's features. Your opinion is more valuable for us than any stretch goals.
A bunch of people born in post-soviet countries rallied by Roman to bring this project to life.
That's the people who worked on the demo. Considering the amount of funding raised, the full game will be made by Roman and Alexandra. The rest of the team will still help.

Risks and challenges
The only possible risk is a delay in the game's release and reward's delivery. The delivery dates stated include the worst case scenario and all the possible scope creeps. We are going to make the game available for PC, MAC, and Linux in one year, but the reward fulfillment and other procedures can take a while.
The arrangements with the t-shirt producers and the courier agency have already been discussed. The team members have freed up time in 2017 in order to fulfill the producer tier.
The project's analysis phase is taking place currently. Immediately after the end of the campaign, we will start the design phase of the project.
The development of a game is a complicated process with many unexpected challenges but your support goes a long way in supporting us.
