The appeal of light is universal, and the light emitted from the Nebula is unique making it even more alluring. The scattered, coloured lights that are inevitably projected onto the wearers skin or clothing are what inspired the Nebula’s name. This same effect can be admired on a grander scale by hanging the pendant near a wall or window.
For future models, we are looking to increase the durability and ease of use of the driver, this includes capacitive touch input and conformal coating of the PCBs. If we hit our goals we will use more advanced processes. The tooling will include CNC milled fixtures and 3D printed gem settings that will allow faster assembly and a higher quality product. The coating of the LEDs and the soldering of the conductive thread in particular are processes that need special tooling.
The Nebula pendant was designed for a fashion forward woman who doesn't mind being noticed. These luminous, sparkling jewels make exquisite and surprising gifts, and are the perfect accessory to wear at parties or other spectacular events, performances, and festivals.
The Nebula is a completely customizable jewelry piece as the conductive thread can be re-strung, with glass or plastic beads. This makes it the perfect gift for anyone who loves to design beaded necklaces, and gives the wearer the opportunity to create a unique design every time it is worn.
The pendant consists of a beautiful faceted crystal which reflects a myriad of colours in changing light. The jewel is connected to a thin, conductive thread leading to a “clasp” where a battery and a micro-controller are contained. Every pendant is hand-built using 3D printing, conductive thread and high efficiency LED’s with the intent of producing optimum brilliance, clarity, unique colour and a beautiful illuminated effect. Every pendant has been programmed with several display modes to allow you to adjust the pendant's brightness, pulse speed and behavior to allow you to create the best effect in your current environment.

Risks and challenges
We have worked hard to address the numerous technological challenges in advance of launching the campaign, however there could be unknown challenges that occur. This may require changes to the design that alter the performance of the device. We will inform the backers if any change alters the specifications of the device.
We have manufactured dozens of digital devices, including numerous wearables. We have done extensive prototyping over the course of the last two years including several small test runs, however scaling up manufacturing is always a major challenge.
The greatest risk is delays in the manufacturing process. This can be due to long lead times on certain parts or flaws in the quality of components. We seek to deliver only flawlessly executed devices, so we will reject any part that does not meet our quality control standards.
