About this project
Update!!! We made 14k! Amazing!!! Thank you to all our backers and everyone who contributed! There's still until 11:45am Eastern, 8:45am West coast, untill the drive is over.
One reason it's still good to back the project, forbid it were to happen again, but people can back out before the end on kickstarter as we learned a day ago! And there's the possibility that some of the cards charged won't go through. So you want to have a nice margin just in case!
Be nice to pass or approach $15570 for sure, roughly the number where all the kickstarter and banking fees are covered neatly leaving us a symmetric 14k free and clear and some change for drinks. Cheers!
And then there is just having more of you, as our readers! You know you want to. Even just a $15 pledge = 6 digital issues of Revolver, 4 containing the serialized comic, and you get to pick the other two. And we still have trade paperback and hand bound editions available, exclusive to the drive.
The more we pass our goal, the more of the work can get done, including a head start on book two! So go nuts!
lots of cool rewards for pledging to be had.
Get on the bandwagon while the blood is still warm!
We know the story of the Vlad Tepes, the so-called “historical Dracula”. But how did a 15th century "Impaler" become the world’s most notorious vampire?
- This will include four limited edition print versions of the book available exclusively for backers.
- The most affordable will be a drive-only black and white trade paperback “ashcan” edition with a generous amount of support material making it 90 pages in all.
- We’ll also offer the first full-color trade paperback edition.
- Next will be a limited, Leatherette hand bound and letterpress style printed soft cover.
- And finally, an extremely limited leather-bound, embossed hardcover collector’s copy with hand painted detailing.
New Reward! UNHOLY ICONS: A diptych two color silkscreen pair of 11x17 prints by Nathan Fox. Hand made for your wall. The image depicts the bleeding of a vampire girl, as the young Sultan's son, Mehmet II and Vlad's brother Radu take in the pleasures of the harem.

Risks and challenges
The primary risk and challenge in creating a comic for any artist is time management. Our story is scripted, but the bulk of the work - drawing the pages - lies ahead. Comics are extremely complicated constructions, and Salgood will be doing most of the art himself. Fortunately it won't be his first time.
This will be his 5th graphic novel and more than his 30th published credit in comics. With 20 years experience making them, as well as working in commercial animation and illustration, and serving as an editor, he's learned a thing or two about organization and hard work. Indeed he's even learned not to rule out problems and has arranged in advance for assistance in coloring and lettering the pages if it's needed
The production schedule as it stands has been planned with lots of room in it to get things done. The book will be broken up into four, fifteen page chunks, each completed over a 3 month period. That's a comfortable amount of time to make sure unforeseen events don't threaten delivery dates.
It also facilitates the stories serialization in RevolveЯ Quarterly. This will allow backers to begin to read the story as soon as the summer of 2013, along with general updates keeping them in the loop as the work progresses. The final book will take a year to put out, but you'll be hearing from us throughout the process.
To make sure we're ready when the book is done, we've already begun working on dummies and packaging design for the backers editions of the books. The trade paperbacks will be produced via print on demand with built in shipping solutions to ease the process of distribution. And the handmade editions will be printed and bound with the help of local experienced artisans to ensure the best possible results.
We're doing everything in our power to deliver a quality book to you in a timely manner and keep you informed and entertained throughout the process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
We've had a few inquiries about this. At first we didn't see how to do so with some of the limited perks, but we've figured it out now! It was really simple really but we missed it at first. As long as we preserve accurate counts on the limited edition books or rewards we can.
So to make sure we update those manually, You have to message us about it. Let us know what you would like added to what reward pack from the other tiers
And in your pledge, add the two sums together. So, if you want the Bound in Blood and a part in the book, you add 75+100 to your pledge
In some cases if postage costs change we may have to ask you to cover that too later. But for now, that should do it!
If there are other rewards you would like to combine feel free to write us about creating custom tiers for them.
We can't promise we can accommodate all requests but we're happy to entertain suggestions. We appreciate your interest!
We'll it really depends on what "_____" is? The portrait of Radu you see him inking in the pitch video is sped up several times, but the raw clip in real time only took about 15, 20 min to shoot. Less possibly. Getting things right sometimes means having to slow down a bit but in general Salgood can ink a full comics page in a day, including pencils and washes and lettering it probably takes two to get one done.
