Circo Di Vision
English translation: Circus of Knowledge.
This deck of cards is the playground for your subconscious. Ask a question, think about a concern, desire an inspiration and then pick a card. You will be amazed when you look at the picture on your card. The disarming symbols provide you with feelings and ideas that match the answers you are looking for.
These cards are the colorful palettes of designs and characters that your imagination will give meaning to from your deep insides. Your insights will run free and abound. The 250 page book that comes with the deck of cards expands your experience to include added interpretations and meanings for even more insight. The book also includes instructions for the many ways you can use these cards for yourself and for others.
The idea came in a flash of inspiration. I was listening to a lecture about Carl Jung, an amazing psychiatrist. His richness of symbolism and archetypes revealed pathways into our subconscious and the collective unconscious for personal growth. Our traumatized inner child survives best by leaving the self, in search of that which appears to be better equipped to deal with disaster and challenge beyond our capabilities. A phrase often used is “we run away to the circus” to find a character that can protect us and battle for us, such as, the strong man or the lion tamer.
That was when the lightening struck. I could design an actual tarot card deck, or for some, a deck of inspirational cards, filled with circus characters from which the subconscious could find language and meaning for emotional healing.
I was off and running. In six months time I was able to develop an artistic style to convey a playfulness in form and color of 78 different circus characters. I was fortunate to find a partner, Brian Carver, to join me in the adventure. His sense of design, his support and his amazing graphic computer skills have made it possible to reach this point of the project.
I am working on a 200+ page book to accompany the deck. It will be filled with extensive interpretations for each card. The book also contains interesting comments and unique spreads. Daily draws are down right inspirational.
"I am very present and solid. I move slowly thinking things through and feeling what is right before I take action. I am strong and stable and steady. I am at my best when I connect with others or when I connect with that which is greater than myself even though I may be cautious at first. I manifest what I truly believe. My unconscious has a great influence on me. I benefit when I delve into my dreams for answers, for direction, for clarity and for guidance. It is good for me to be aware of my hidden doubts, fears and family beliefs. My only limit is myself. When I use all my skills and all my resources all obstacles are removed. I have a strong influence over other people. I am respected. My spiritual connection is enormous."
I have been a psychotherapist for more than 30 years and a hypnotherapist for over 20 years. I am a creature of holistic spirituality and energy work. I have come back from a flatline experience wired for the exceptional. I feel strongly that the Circo di Vision is just that. I have already used a few demo cards in counseling sessions with great success. I am so excited to share this gift of healing, personal discovery and fun with all of you and the rest of the world of energy, personal growth, faith and divination.
A tarot card enthusiast will love using this deck. It has 78 cards. The major arcana correlates to traditional tarot decks. The minor arcana are suited by the elements; earth, water, fire and air. There is an easy narrative to follow for the minor arcana which makes them so much easier to read.
Challenge: The cards have been drawn, the colors are being added, the book is nearing completion. We have spent hours and hours of time creating. We have spent our personal money on equipment and supplies. The next phase of actual printing and packaging is where you come in. The cost is about $20,000 to cover the first printing and packaging run. We have raised $8,000. We are looking to you to help us find the $12,000 we still need.
The first cards off the press, of course, will be sent to our wonderful Kickstarter funders in deep appreciation. Once we have the finished product in hand I plan to spend a year on the road selling them where ever I can.
Risks and challenges
We are searching for a printer that is within our budget. We also want to include quality drawstring carry bags and we have to secure assembly of the packages. We might run into some delays assembling all the pieces together but we hope to have rewards to our backers by December.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
