Super Events in the Cockettes World
Greetings to all supporters of The Cockettes Photo Book Project
Lots of fantastic events have transpired recently in the World of The Cockettes!
Both museum shows that have featured installations of our group, the exhibition Hippie Modernism: The Struggle for Utopia which originated at the Walker Art Center last November, 2015 will be traveling to the Cranbrook Museum in Detroit, June 2016 and then to the Berkeley Museum and Pacific Film Archive, Berkeley, CA in Feb. 2017. http://www.walkerart.org/calendar/2015/hippie-modernism-struggle-utopia
Also the wonderful exhibition Counter Couture: Fashioning Identity in the American Counter Culture will be traveling to the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City in Feb. 2017. http://www.bellevuearts.org/exhibitions/counter_couture.html
I also recently contributed an interview for the latest edition of the beautiful UK fashion magazine ODDA, their 10th edition called Tributes. We have a double page spread as well as a featured fashion layout. Check it out!
And I will be traveling to London on April 24th, 2016 to appear at the acclaimed performance venue The Horse Hospital in Bloomsbury, London to host a Cockettes Film Night.
Then I travel to France to work with my European book designer on the layout for The Cockettes Photo Book. I'm working towards having the book available for all these fabulous events in the coming year, 2017, the 50th Anniversary of The Summer of Love.
So much attention is being paid to the Zeigiest of the Counter-Culture all over the world and the Cockettes are right in the thick of it so if you haven't already ordered your first edition copy, you can do so here:
Thank you for your support!
