About

Genius Cards is a fun way to solve the world's problems.

(in other words, it's a hilarious card game that makes people laugh)

One problem, unexpected solutions
One problem, unexpected solutions

Here's how it works: one player reads a red problem card, and everyone else reads their best white solution card. Then most people laugh at the unexpected problem/solution combination.

(see more detailed rules at the bottom of the page if you're into that)

Big problems, unlimited solutions

  • 50 Problem Cards (Red)
  • 250 Solution Cards (White)
  • 5 Rule Cards (Black)
  • 1 Box (Red)

  • 4 to 10+ Players (expand to 20+ players)

Because that's what all the other card game makers are doing. Seriously.
Also, we need the money for our first printing run
And for the free marketing, obviously.

1. History Expansion, Blue ( > $10,000 funding)

2. You Choose the Expansion ( > $30,000 funding)

You vote on the 2nd Expansion Pack. Choose from:

  • Physics
  • Math
  • Startups
  • Industrial
  • Farming
  • We're still thinking...

3. More than $50,000?

We'll keep you posted!

We like playing games with our friends and family. Aaron is always coming up with stupid circle games that are really confusing and not that much fun. So Andrew thought up a game that was fast-paced, super fun, and even family-friendly. And when Aaron found out he actually had some pretty good ideas on how to make it better.

Then Clayton/Josh/Kent got involved because they think they are game experts.
(They sort of are).

That pretty much sums us up.

Okay, it's really NOT that complicated.

1. Everyone draws 4 White Solution Cards
2. The first person picks up 1 Red Problem Card and reads it out loud
3. Everyone else picks their "best" Solution Card and reads it out loud
4. The reader gives a point to the person who had the "best" solution
5. Everyone draws a new Solution Card
6. The next person in line reads another Problem Card
7. The person with the most points wins

It’s simple to learn and exciting to play, but it only takes about 1 minute to learn!

We obviously wouldn't have gotten featured on any of these lists without the momentum we got from our backers. Thanks again!!

The first cards we got were blank on one side so we could experiment and figure out funny problems and solutions.

Learning #27: We quickly figured out that future cards needed to be thicker stock and higher quality finish.

Here is part of our first larger order of cards...

Learning # 52: We need to switch to rounded corners for longer-lasting cards!

Risks and challenges

This is a card game. Due to a high level of manufacturing expertise in the card-making world, we do not anticipate many challenges making the cards. If the project is funded we will have enough cold hard cash to get everything set up and start making the cards affordably.

The key challenge for us is making something that you want. That's the primary reason we want your backing. We want you to send us your suggestions for the game and help us build something that makes a lot of people laugh.
