WHY A KICKSTARTER?
Glad you asked! We've assembled an awesome team of skilled and accomplished filmmakers to make this film come to life. We're lucky enough to be calling in quite a few favors, which is saving us A LOT of money! Things like some of our camera equipment & location costs are being given to us at no charge!
So what does your pledge go to then?
- Specialty camera equipment (lenses, lighting kits, etc.) that will enhance the visual quality exponentially!
- Pay for the cast & crew! It won't be much, but it will be a great privilege to provide a small amount of monetary exchange for the hard work of those involved.
- Food! People gotta eat!
- Travel & fuel costs. Considering party of our shoot is on location, outside of Los Angeles, we'll need to cover any expense of traveling. (We have lodging covered! Wahoo!)
- Scoring & musicians. We will have an entirely original score which will need to be written & recorded! That costs money too.
- Film festival submission costs! After it is all said and done, we'd love to share this project with the world. In order to do that we have to pay submission costs which can range anywhere from $25-$100.
- Miscellaneous props, wardrobe costs, rentals. There's always one or two extra things you need, and we've incorporated these costs into the budget.
Hopefully this answers your questions, and makes you as excited as we are for A THING OF DREAMS!
A very special thanks to TXL Films, Dronestock.com, Taron Lexton and Kath Soucie for getting this Kickstarter off the ground!
