As game masters, we love 5E, but sometimes we run out of time preparing for a game. If only there was a supplement that had what we needed that would let us drag-and-drop into any campaign, potentially saving hours of game prep time. If only there were some new and exciting content organized and designed for XP level of players. Well, fellow GMs, now there is!
What is Masters and Minions?
One thing we've noticed as game masters ourselves, is the challenge that most GMs face: prep time. With busy lives like ours in mind, we wanted to create a book that has NEW content to help with that! The idea with Masters and Minions was to develop some Bosses and their followers, but with a focus on how they use their minions - and provide some tips and strategies that any GM can "drag and drop" into a new or existing game. This new content will span levels 1 - 20, so the book will continue to provide you with new content as your players level up!
Like what you see? What are you waiting for? Make your pledge now! Don't miss out on the campaign-exclusive Beta backer level where you will receive early access to content as it is created, months before anyone else!
Who is this book for? Any GM, new or experienced, who wishes to add new antagonists and strategies into their games. Any GM who is looking for rich and well sorted content, but does not have a lot of prep time. Any GM who is looking to challenge their Players in new ways.
We also created a book called Gods and Goddesses which funded on Kickstarter March of 2017. It was our very first publishing project. You can still grab a copy of the book from our online store here, or you can bundle it with Masters and Minions on any of the + Gods and Goddesses pledge levels.

What you can expect from Masters and Minions
Encounters covering levels 1-20.
Encounters are divided into levels 1-3, 4-7, 8-10, etc.
Lore and description on each Master and how they use their minions.
Each Master has story hooks, tricks, puzzles and strategy on how to use each one effectively. This can potentially save hours of prep time for a GM.
All new, never before seen content. This helps offset meta-gaming and will be fun for new or experienced players.
Detailed NPCs, with the primary focus on how the masters implement and use their minions.
New minions will be unique. We love new monsters! Alternative minion types using traditional monsters will also be suggested for Masters who have a lot up their sleeve. *insert evil laughter here*
Estimated book size: 100 pages (hardback).
Features in Masters and Minions
All new Detailed NPC Masters + All new Minions. At least 10 Masters and their minions will be featured. Depending on stretch goals, that number can increase.
Tips on how to use minions in a game.
Developed antagonists. Not just “NPC bad guys with stats”.
New in-depth settings.
Motivations, Goals and Strategies for each Master.
Plot ideas to add a twist and bring more life to current adventures.
Plug-and-Play options for new or existing adventures.
Maps / Lairs.
Benefits to Masters and Minions: Enrich your player experience. Time-saving info and strategies for new or veteran GMs. While there are a lot of monsters available for 5E, many of those do not offer information on how to actually use them effectively in a game. Go beyond flavor text and leverage the information and strategy suggestions within to give your game more depth and intrigue.
With all this spicy content, what are you waiting for? Make your pledge now! Don't miss out on the Kickstarter exclusive Beta backer level where you will receive early access to content as it is created, months before anyone else!

What is 5th Edition? The 5th edition’s Basic Rules, a free PDF containing complete rules for play and a subset of the player and DM content from the core rulebooks, was released on July 3, 2014. The Starter Set was released on July 15, featuring a set of pre-generated characters, a set of instructions for basic play, and the adventure module Lost Mine of Phandelver. The Player’s Handbook was released on August 19, 2014. The fifth edition Monster Manual was released on September 30, 2014. The Dungeon Master’s Guide was released on December 9, 2014. The edition returns to having only three core rule books, with the Player’s Handbook containing most major races and classes.
The publication of the System Reference Document (SRD) for 3rd edition under the Open Game License (OGL) allowed other companies to use the rules to create their own variants of Dungeons & Dragons, providing that they did not use anything Wizards of the Coast considered trade dress or signature content, known as “product identity” under the terms of the OGL. IMPORTANT NOTE: "SHIPS ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD" does not mean free shipping. It's Kickstarter's way of saying that backers anywhere can support this project. If you are outside the US and getting physical rewards, see below.
REWARD FULFILLMENT: Soon after this campaign ends, we will ask you to fill out a survey if you have NOT purchased a physical product. When we receive physical product from printer, we will then send out another survey for our backers of the book that needs to be shipped.
IMPORTANT: Let us know as soon as possible if you have any address changes.
Here’s how PDFs are distributed: when a PDF reward is ready, we’ll put out a project update letting you know it is time to log on to your account on the Conceptopolis/Jetpack7 Shop and redeem your reward, which you will do for free with a coupon. The coupon code will be good for the email address associated with your kickstarter account only. If you have problems with this process, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Physical products will be shipped upon our receipt of books. We guarantee a product will be in stock for you as one of your rewards for at least one year after the product's release date.
DOMESTIC SHIPPING: We offer USPS media mail shipping within the United States.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: International shipping is not included in your pledge.
International shipping is expensive. We don’t have any control over that, and we can’t accurately predict what shipping rates will be at the time of fulfillment. If you’re an international backer and have questions about shipping rates, we recommend you visit the USPS website to get an estimate. Please also be aware that you are responsible for import duties, taxes, and brokerage fees, and that we must comply with international law and cannot mark your reward as a gift or as a zero-value item.
Risks and challenges
We successfully funded and fulfilled our 1st Kickstarter project Gods and Goddesses in 2017. Unforeseen challenges with Gods and Goddesses were delays associated with shipping books from overseas and delays in customs. We have since made vendor corrections to prevent those delays from occurring again.
Other possible risks are scheduling the additional material from stretch goals that may push out the delivery schedule on those items, or that one of our primary contributors encounters a production delay. We're a small, but very experienced team with over 1000 unique projects delivered for dozens of toy and video game corporations. Such an event could possibly delay (but not prevent) publication, or delivery of product.
Jetpack7 has no other Kickstarter projects outstanding. We have contributed and delivered content to seven successfully crowdfunded game books to date.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
