We have officially funded! Thank you so much!
Jetpack7 is pleased to announce Gods and Goddesses: Redux, a revised and expanded version of our very first book.
Packed full of content, Gods and Goddesses: Redux is an excellent resource for world building. It is a treasure trove of of 35+ player options and spells, intriguing mini-adventures to add to your campaigns, and an all around "divine" book to add to your collection of 5th Edition supplements! Oh, and it has great art. Did we say great art?
Visit us at jetpack7.com for our helpful blog and see our other products!
We're making two versions of Gods and Goddesses: Redux.
- A revised and expanded second printing of the book (140-150 pgs) with all original deities, player options, and new expansions for anyone who doesn't already have the book.
- The expansions as a stand-alone softcover book, for all our fans who already have the book.
The start of an era
Gods and Goddesses is the book that facilitated Jetpack7's success as a 5th Edition publisher. We're proud of this book, and we think we did well with it in terms of production quality as a newcomer to the RPG supplement scene.
As a gift to all our fans – old and new alike – we're building upon what has made our supplements great. Without YOU we wouldn't be able to do what we do (and we do so love what we do), so we couldn't think of a better way to thank you all than to offer you more content for this very first supplement.
After all, creating useful 5th edition content alongside inspiring art is the goal we set out to achieve back in 2016. We'd like to say that we certainly achieved this goal, and we hope to continue meeting (and exceeding) fan expectations for many years to come!
We're giving you more
As we ran out of the first printing, we considered printing more copies of Gods and Goddesses in its original format. But while looking over the book's already fabulous content, we asked ourselves: can we give our fans more than this? Can we make something great even better?
And the answer was a YES.
The revised and expanded edition includes the all the original content: 16 deities, 32 player options, new spells, new critters, NPCs, and detailed lore for each deity to inspire creativity and a sense of adventure in your campaigns. But we're adding more. Read on to see what other goodies are going into this revised and expanded edition.
New content to enhance the old
In addition to the 16 original deities and 32 player options in the first edition, we're adding:
- Up to 4 new gods (depending on stretch goals).
- New mini-campaigns related to deities. We have four written so far, and more possible with stretch goals.
- More player options beyond the cleric and paladin builds from the first edition (so far, we have a ranger, a warlock, and a monk).
- Temple maps and descriptions (depending on stretch goals).
- Open Gaming Content (OGL) backer submissions of a deity (depending on stretch goals).
- A Commissioned likenesses pledge level. (Immortal)
- More magic items.
- More divine critters.
- New NPCs.
- Voter's choice cover art for the hardback and softcover (depending on stretch goals).
- More interior art.
This is 40+ extra pages of content. Our goal is 50 pages.
So what is Gods and Goddesses, anyway?
Gods and Goddesses, features classic deities for use as a 5th edition (OGL) supplement. Inside, you can find many player character options to bring in rich levels of diversity to your new or current game. An homage to the Deities and Demigods of previous editions, you can use this book to present the deities as "new gods", or as "old gods" that have returned to the world. It's up to you. Change the course of events by inserting these new deities in with a surprising bang, or reveal them slowly over time.
New spells, new magic items, and rich lore for each entry in the book, providing you and your players with a wealth of content for years to come.
These are contemporary portrayals of deities from cultures from around our real world that can be inserted into any 5th edition campaign setting. What better way to add some vibrant diversity to such a wonderful game? Certainly, some of the names will be familiar like Freyja and Baba Yaga, but many are lesser-known deities providing new content for your game. This is your world where you and your players can find out how these new Gods and Goddesses will have an impact beyond what has ever been seen before.
The Art of Gods and Goddesses
As with our other supplements, we don't skimp on art, so you can expect this book to be beautifully illustrated from cover to cover. Speaking of covers, should we hit the stretch goal we'll include a voter's choice deity as the front image!

What is 5th Edition?
The 5th edition’s Basic Rules, a free PDF containing complete rules for play and a subset of the player and GM content from the core rulebooks, was released on July 3, 2014. The Starter Set was released on July 15, featuring a set of pre-generated characters, a set of instructions for basic play, and the adventure module Lost Mine of Phandelver. The Player’s Handbook was released on August 19, 2014. The 5th Edition Monster Manual was released on September 30, 2014. The Dungeon Master’s Guide was released on December 9, 2014. The edition returns to having only three core rule books, with the Player’s Handbook containing most major races and classes.
The publication of the System Reference Document (SRD) under the Open Game License (OGL) allowed other companies to use the rules to create their own variants of Dungeons & Dragons™, providing that they did not use anything Wizards of the Coast considered trade dress or signature content, known as “product identity” under the terms of the OGL. Risks and challenges
We successfully funded and fulfilled two Kickstarter projects; Gods & Goddesses in 2017 and Masters and Minions in 2018, and Legendary Dragons was funded October 2018, the PDF was fulfilled June of 2019. Physical copies of Legendary Dragons ships August 2019.
Unforeseen challenges with Gods & Goddesses were delays associated with shipping books from overseas and delays in customs. We have since made vendor corrections and the process was much smoother for Masters and Minions and for Legendary Dragons. For the latter, we switched to a US printer, so customs aren't an issue anymore for our US backers, and we are now working with Big Blue, an experienced fulfillment center in France, for all our EU fulfillment needs.
Other possible risks are scheduling the additional material from stretch goals that may push out the delivery schedule on those items, or that one of our primary contributors encounters a production delay. We're a small but very experienced team with over 1000 unique projects delivered for dozens of toy and video game corporations. Such an event could possibly delay (but not prevent) publication, or delivery of product.
Jetpack7 has no other Kickstarter projects outstanding beyond the physical delivery of Legendary Dragons (the PDF has successfully been delivered at the time of writing this in June 2019). We see no issues with delivery of the hardcover to our backers, as everything is on schedule.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
