On average we sit for over 9 hours a day, 365 days a year and if we are being honest, it’s hard to avoid slouching. But did you know that bad posture can lead to back pain?
Back pain is the second most common reason people visit family doctors. So we’ve invented something that helps correct poor posture whether you're standing, sitting or riding a bike, and the best part is no one will even know you’re wearing it.
The Percko is an undershirt lined with tensors in the shape of your back with the idea of good posture in mind. When you’re sitting up straight, you don’t feel a thing. But when you hunch, slouch or move in any way that’s bad for your back, you’ll feel a slight stimulation in the right direction, letting you know you’ve got to re-adjust. It does this all without any electronics, you don't even need a mobile app.The sleek design aligns to the natural shape of the back, which prevents restriction but allows users to move around as they would throughout the day.The best thing about The Percko is that it is designed for you to continue to maintain your already existing life style. So if you commute to work, work from home or are simple going to the grocery store,The Percko is right there, and it has your back, helping you improve your posture.
The Percko is the only way to keep your posture straight any moment of the day; that is truly discrete, so discrete that you can put it on under a regular work shirt or dress. The concept is easy: it works as a second skin on your back to help you maintain proper posture all day long.
In a clinical study conducted with Ostéobio and Cogitobio, Percko shows significant results in postural improvement: an improved posture can be seen in 100% of people who tested Percko.
Wearing Percko results in the straightening of the spine, bringing back the thoracic spine above the gravity line going through the pelvis. Overall balance is improved, and muscle fatigue risks are reduced.
Hi! We are Alexis Ucko and Quentin Perraudeau and we created the company Percko. Shortly after we met in college and began sharing our life experiences and passion for innovative entrepreneurship, it became clear that back discomfort is as constant as it is a universal problem. Between my father and Quentin’s martial experience as a black belt in judo, we found that the only thing anyone has to do in order to solve 80% of their back problems was to adopt proper posture and that’s when the light bulb went off. The Percko was born. See, as a dentist, my father experienced much back issues from bending over patients all day. So while orthodontics was hurting my father, Quentin was excelling in judo thanks to his healthy posture habits. Posture is the backbone of judo and Quentin was working on it almost every day. A good posture allows to have more balance to counter and attack with more efficiency and speed.
From office to outpatient, law firm to call center, programmers to mechanics, people all over are experiencing back pain from their job. We want to offer those suffering from back discomfort something more than a bulking back brace, so we decided from the start to reinforce the backs of the users by stimulating them rather than restricting them. By working with recognized professionals we created and patented the Percko system.
With help from Techtera, a French textile competitive cluster, we’ve had the opportunity to identify and test the most comfortable and resistant materials. The quality of the natural fibers that we use makes The Percko, light in weight and increases your comfort during any and all of your activities.
The Percko acts as a guide to obtain good posture. When you stand straight up, you feel all of The Percko’s second-skins qualities: its breathable, thin and a comfortable fabric. When you start to slouch, The Percko stimulates your back to correct it to the ideal posture for your body.
How it works:
Other products work with lumbar supports that maintain the muscle’s position by working for them. This impact is counter-productive since when other products support your back, your muscle don't exercise, weakening the back of the user. The Percko works by stimulating, not supporting, the whole spine from your pelvis to your neck. Not only does this approach avoid weakening your muscles, but it builds good habits that last even when you take The Percko off.
The Percko is comfortable and easy to use, made with the best quality and material, it’s also guaranteed 100%. Since there’s no electricity involved, you won’t ever run out of power or be in search for a charger. And with neutral colors and a thin, smooth texture, no one will notice that you are even wearing it under a casual shirt or polo. The Percko can be put on, taken off and maintained like any other clothing. The second- skin, like a shirt, will not compress your body and your comfort will be optimal.
Slouching leads to a vicious cycle of events: the more we bend our backs, the weaker our muscles become and because of that we damage our backs even more by exposing our spinal column to even more stress. The Percko allows you to break this cycle: Your posture will naturally correct itself and will then reinforce your back, while at the same time protecting your vertebral column.
Now that we’ve covered your posture, we want to make sure we cover your fashion sense as well. Second Skin comes in a variety of colors and sizes, because one size just doesn't fit all. For men we have v-neck t-shirts in black and sand; for women we have sleeveless v-necks in mauve and black. This way you can coordinate with your everyday casual or work clothes.

We have dedicated our blood, sweat and tears for the past year to the development of our product. Now that it’s ready, we want the Percko to become YOUR product too!
Surrounded by innovative professionals, we were able to design, create and patent a prototype that we know, if added to your wardrobe, will make your everyday life better. We really want to help you correct your posture, but right now, you are the superhero that will make this project a reality!

We are really excited about launching the first posture - stimulating undershirt. The most important aspect of this project is that we fulfill our promise to you, our backers aka our backbones! We put a lot of work into designing and building the first prototypes. We are also aware that there will be challenges in regards to manufacturing, production, shipping worldwide, but we promise we’ll rise to any challenge. We don't want to lose out on the ability to deliver you a superior product, if it can be reasonably done. We are committed to keeping you informed of our progress both during and following our campaign. We assure you that we are all working very hard to produce a sensational product that not only arrives on time but is of optimum quality!
