Zvigaba.com is a music video website/social media platform established in January 2015 with the purpose of showcasing Zimbabwe’s urban artists. This year alone, our Facebook campaign has generated over 200k views for artists that have submitted their videos, furthermore, we have featured a catalog of videos from Zimbabwe’s best urban artists such as Takura, Winky-D, Ammara Brown, Nutty-O and many more. Over the years, we have formed direct relationships with many Zimbabwean artists as well as up-and-coming music video directors and this has allowed our brand to flourish as we seek to make it the ‘go-to’ platform for all music video launches.
We now seek to expand our platform by launching "Zvigaba TV". This will be a 24hr live streaming music video channel on Facebook, Youtube, Livestream.com and at http://zvigaba.tv. The channel will feature Zimbabwe's hottest urban artists music videos and live sponsored performances. The channel will be completely free to watch across the globe, sponsored by advertisers. There are an estimated 4million Zimbabweans living outside of Zimbabwe. This will be our main target audience.
Funding will be used as follows:
- Creation of the livestream.com account - 8k/year
- Music Licenses - 3k/year
- Camera equipment, Computer Hardware/Software - 10k
- Logo/Graphic design work - $500
- Website Hosting and maintenance fees - $500/year
- Zvigaba Original Productions - 2k/year
- Advertising - 1k/year
Risks and challenges
The main risk is advertisers/sponsorship revenue. Our goal is to get 100k in total advertising/sponsorship revenue per year. Video Ads and sponsorships will be negotiated directly by our team and via ad agencies. By our estimate, we will need to get at least 8k followers on our facebook page to generate interest and spread the word about the live channel. We are already in talks with artists who are very interested in live performances to promote their material and we are well on our way to meeting the number of followers needed on our facebook page.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
