We hit the $800 stretch goal! Edgar Allan Cowpoke and the Ten of Zephyrs will be available to choose as print rewards! Thank you all!
I'm Monica, and illustrator/artist based in Austin, TX.
In late 2014 and all of this year, I have been buckling down to try to complete the art for The Stolen Child Tarot -- and I've made some great progress!
While I am still about 30 paintings away from completing the 80 painting project, I would like to do a modest print run of some select images from the project in time for the holidays.
By supporting this print run, you will be helping me continue with The Stolen Child Tarot and in return receive a big and beautiful print on unique archival specialty papers!
For both prints, I've formatted them to standard framing sizes, preserved the natural watercolor edge of the originals and given them a generous white border -- so they display wonderfully dropped in a frame or can be easily matted.
As a test, I've run proofs of two of the pieces, Babes in the Woods and the Page of Oak on pearlescent shimmer paper and a linen texture finish. I was floored by how they turned out! This printer is new to me and I wanted to try them because I was intrigued by their art paper offerings -- seeing the proofs they did for me, I love them! True to color and the pearlescent paper is luminous! :)
You can add additional prints to any reward by upping your pledge $15.
Also, because I want to give this project the best chance of funding, I'm offering some original works as rewards at a steal!
What you'll get:
- All prints will ship flat, clear bagged in a rigid stay-flat mailer.
- Paper is 107 lb archival acid-free pearlescent or linen cover stock. (see reward photos for which paper each comes on)
- Each will be signed and come with a personalized thank you postcard and pair of glossy stickers!
- Shipping will be done in November, with scheduled arrival December or earlier!
Stretch Goals? Sure, why not?
$500 Goal - Funded! Babes in the Woods and Page of Oak are printed!
I'd love to add more prints to the run, so I've set some goals and run a survey to see what images are favorites. If the campaign hits $100 over the original goal, or any stretch goal, I'll do a POSTCARD PRINT of the next image in line and add it as a BONUS to all rewards.
Example: $500 Funding goal is reached, but we hit $600, so everyone will get a postcard print of Edgar Allen Cowpoke!
$800 Stretch Goal - 2 more prints - You have FOUR to choose from! Edgar Allan Cowpoke and 10 of Zephyrs will be added to the run.
$1000 Stretch Goal - 2 more prints - You have SIX to choose from! Queen of Brine and 5 of Oak will be added to the run.
Do you have a favorite you think should be bumped up? Let me know in the comments!

Original Art Rewards:
Thank you so much for viewing my campaign and I hope you'll support my project and my artwork.
Risks and challenges
I've successfully run and delivered physical rewards on time for three complex Kickstarter projects: The Stolen Child Tarot, The Magician's Cat children's ebook, and The Magician's Cat print edition, as well as smaller projects to develop my illustrated jewelry and complete small series print runs.
For this project, the paintings are complete, and only require some time to do prepress preparations. My budget on printing and rewards delivery is based on my experience with my previous projects and printing quotes I researched in testing my proofs. Should any unforeseen delays happen (color correction, rescans on artwork...) I promise to keep backers up to date.
The Kickstarter community has allowed me to do some amazing things as an independent artist and I feel it's vital to my reputation to create responsibly researched and budgeted projects where I can deliver on my promises in a timely manner. I take my commitment to you very seriously.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
