Adopt your very own demon and help Monica immortalize all her homeless horrors in The Lost Key to Infernal Spirits of the New World, a Grimoire of 72 demon portraits. No Magickal experience is required for your adoption. Got a soul? YOU can adopt a demon! (Or demons, really, take on as many as you like.)
UPDATE 3/20/2014 -- Don't forget to click the updates tab at the top of the campaign to see Grimoire details and more demon art!
All Pledgers/Adopters at all levels will receive a THANK YOU mention in the completed Grimoire!
What are the Benefits of Adoption?
- Learn Gibbering and other dead languages

Each Adoption Certificate is personalized with the names of the adopter and demonic adoptee. Suitable for framing, surreptitiously passing to your nemesis, or burning at the cross roads under the gibbous moon.
The GRIMIORE. Much like Sibley's bird books, a thorough guidebook can be an invaluable tool in the field. The savy thaumaturge knows the value of an ILLUSTRATED guide to identify who and what exactly is being dealt with. Monica is burning the noontime, midnight and tea-time oil to complete the portraits and field notes for a compendium of 72 infernal spirits who have made themselves known to her. The completed tome, The Lost Key to Infernal Spirits of the New World, will be 90-100 pages with over 72 illustrations perfect bound (soft cover paperback) on cream linen and happily custom inscribed if requested.
The BLACK TALISMAN comes on 20 inch black cord with gunmetal jump ring. This original laser cut and engraved design in glossy black acrylic is exclusive to this Kickstarter. Suitable for life as a pendant, altar piece, watch fob or keep it handy on your temple key chain. What's that? You faintly perceive the outline of a skull in the design? I'm sure it's nothing. Let's call it a happy accident. To view more of Monica's engraved illustrated jewelry, visit her previous projects.
The Royal New England Anti-Exorcism League wants to make your adoption a fun and fulfilling experience. Got a question? Just ask! Adoption Counselors are ready to respond in our informative FAQ!
What's this really all about?
In addition to providing loving homes to her surplus unnameable horrors, this Kickstarter's goal is to allow Monica to complete the remaining demon portraits for The Lost Key to Infernal Spirits of the New World Grimoire and fund its printing. In addition to their rewards, all backers will get the exclusive first look at new creatures as they are hatched and a special thank you mention in the completed Grimoire.
Over the funding goal? Stretch goals?
Any and all money over the funding goal will go into enhancing the final book. Additional funding could allow for additional artwork like fancy borders and frames, extra pages, upgrades in paper quality or even a full color cover! If the project takes us there, I'll start posting details about goals. :)
Risks and challenges
I've successfully run and delivered physical rewards on time for two complex Kickstarter projects: The Stolen Child Tarot and The Magician's Cat ebook, as well as for two smaller projects, Tell a Tale Jewelry and Tell a Tale Too. While the digital rewards for Magician's Cat ran over schedule, I kept backers fully informed and provided a bonus PDF of children's coloring pages as a thank you for their patience.
For this project, I've completed over a third of the artwork which has given me a solid time table of my ability to complete the rest. My budget on printing and rewards delivery is based on my experience with my previous projects and printing estimates from the local Austin printer who worked with me on The Stolen Child Tarot. Should any unforeseen delays happen (mechanical issues, redo's on artwork...) I promise to keep backers up to date.
Kickstarter backers have allowed me to do some amazing things as an independent artist and I take my commitment to you very seriously.
