About this project

Our names are Schemyrda, Raven, and Yvonne and we were inspired by the movement to go green. For those that don’t know, the movement to go green consist of reducing, reusing, and recycling, this motto is the basic foundation for using our planet’s resources more efficiently. So our question was how could we contribute to this growing movement in a positive way? We came up with Green Lenses. Green Lenses are all customized, handmade, trendy sunglasses created using all recycled materials. Each pair of sunglasses feature a unique, hand crafted design using anything from glass, old magazines, broken jewelry etc.

Features and Benefits:

 The benefits you will receive from choosing Green Lenses are protection from the sun, helping our environment, and a one of a kind pair of sunglasses.

Timeline:

 Marketing- We will market our sunglasses from November-February and release in March in time for spring break.

Production- The sunglasses take roughly 3 hours per pair and we plan to sell 100 pairs in a year’s time. I estimate three months to finalize the product December-February

 Ordering- Pre-ordering will begin in February and we will also be including the rewards for our qualified backers, regular ordering will begin in March.

 Processing- Orders will be processed within 2-3 business days.

Shipping- Pre orders and rewards will be shipped during the first week of March, all other orders will be shipped using standard ground shipping of 5-7 business days. Once inventory runs out shipping will take 4-6 weeks.

Budget:

Sales Revenue: We plan to sell 100 pairs within a year with a sales price of $50 per pair for a total sales of $5,000 for the year.

Annual Budget

$ 5000 ($50 x 100 pair)=Sales Revenue

 $ Free ( Marketing & Promotions i.e. Facebook & Instagram )

 $ 20 (Kickstarter rewards)

 $ 3,000 ( Materials & Labor)

 $ 1,970 (Gross Income)

 $ 375 (7.5% tax estimate x sales revenue 4,500)

 $ 1,595 (Net Income, 15.95 per pair)

Risks and challenges

Some risk that may arise are because they are all custom and hand made orders may get backed up which would delay shipping. Another possible challenge we may face would be securing a vendor where we would get our recycled materials from.
