What's it all about?
WASTED is about a man desperately trying to keep his family together working part time/zero hours. It's an alternative voice in the whole skiver/striver debate. It's a look at three generations of men and their relationship to work. It's saying not everyone on benefits is a scrounger. It's saying if being unemployed is a lifestyle choice it's a pretty crap one.
But it's NOT poverty porn.
It's warm, tender, funny; A man out there right now, doing his best.
A word from the writer/director
With a cast of highly experienced but as yet unknown actors it would be very difficult to get this film funded through the normal channels. In fact, with it also being the director's first feature, we'd barely raise a smile.
So we want to go ahead and make the film ourselves. Everyone on the project is working unpaid to get the film made. We've had some fantastic offers of help from camera hire, facilities hire, and post production houses and nearly all the locations are within a couple of miles of our unit base. Having carefully costed the project we are confident we can make this film for £40,000. We've raised some of this ourselves, we're raising some from investors and we're hoping to raise £10,000 from this kickstarter campaign.
Once completed we will be entering the film into festivals and we've secured the help of an experienced Executive Producer with valuable expertise in this area. Beyond the festival circuit they will also be advising us on our campaign to secure a sales agent and distribution.
Who you gonna call?
If you like what you've seen about this story and the way we're intending to make it happen, then please do let your friends know about us by forwarding this page link or by twitter, facebook etc. That would be a HUGE help to us, thank you.
And of course, please do check out the rewards. We really hope there's something there that catches your eye. We'd love to welcome you onto this project.
Thank you very much.

Risks and challenges
As with all film making there are possibilities of delays caused by bad weather or unforeseen problems with locations. However, we will attempt to allleviate any serious disruption by having good back up plans and alternate location possibilities available throughout the shoot. There can be rare problems with equipment and kit that can cause disruption but again, we will attempt to be fully prepared with back up plans should these arise. For very serious unforeseen events, we will be fully insured and would expect to be able to re-shoot where shooting on the day has proved impossible.
Whilst you can never prepare for every possible eventuality and there will inevitably be problems along the way, we intend to devote a great deal of time on our preparations, which we hope will stand us in good stead should things ever become difficult.
