About this project
Mock Girl is an online webcomic series that I began posting in 2013 that deals with a motivating mix of issues such as transgenderism, the mob, reality TV stars and making bad choices. It follows the story of a transgender girl called Sam, who moves to a new town where it seems that everything that can go wrong does. With the help of her roommate Brit, and a few other friends along for the ride, she tries to find a way out with mixed success. You can read the comic at mockgirl.com
I had stopped doing comics and I found that I really missed it. Mock Girl helped me rekindle my passion for making comics, and it has surpassed all my expectations for the project. I've gotten to explore a crazy number of topics, like what it is to be transgender, mob warfare, murder most foul, and of course self-exploration. I love having the comic on the internet, but there is something about holding the book in your hands that I felt was needed with this comic.
Mock Girl - Book One will be the first in a series of other Mock Girl volumes to come. It will be a compilation of most of the comics I have created thus far (10 chapters, encompassing everything up through “Well Almost”), all beautifully illustrated, with bonus commentary and sketches, right in the palm of your hand. But before you can skim these high quality pages, and see Sam go pick out a dress with her mobster friend, or stop her roommate from setting things on fire, I need your help. The Mock Girl series is looking to raise $4,000 worth of funding for the printing and distribution of Book One. Donors will not only be able receive copies of the book, but special wallpapers, t-shirts, tote bags, and their very own characters fully illustrated. Please see my reward tiers for more specifics on these rewards levels and what you can get. For those of you who donate, you have my gratitude. If you’d like a preview of what you can expect to find in the pages of this book, you can head on over to mockgirl.com and start getting to know Sam and her band of besties that are a little bit all over the place.
I’m currently in the process of layout and design of the book. I have done similar projects in the past, and given the time I have I’m expecting to be finished by June. Of course this gets big enough then I may have more time to devote to this, and I may be able to get it done sooner. I’m currently in talks with a couple of different manufacturers, and I’ll keep you guys updated as that process rolls on. I expect that the whole process should be wrapped up, with the book in your hands by August. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

My name is Terra Snover, and I’ve been a professional writer and illustrator for quite some time. I’ve worked on several other comic projects over the past few years, but Mock Girl is a labor of love, a pet project I hope to dedicate more time to, and something I wish to use as a stepping stone for better things to come. Between the hours needed weekly for my current job in illustration, it’s becoming more and more difficult to set aside a substantial amount of time to creating and producing Mock Girl, but I’ve finally been able to put together a something I hope you all will love.

Risks and challenges
There are risks in everything I could get hit by a truck tomorrow, but I’ve worked super hard to minimize them for this project. There’s always a chance the books could get delayed in by a printer screw up, or get stuck transit somewhere, but said things are an act of the gods and the only thing I can do to stop that is give myself some wiggle room in the estimated ship dates, and I have done just that. If everything goes according to plan, everyone will get their books sooner than the dated posted!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
