Frequently Asked Questions

First, look at the clues and write down some guesses for each one. Look at your guesses for the clockwise clues and read them backwards. See if you can find overlapping letters with your guesses for the counterclockwise words. For example, if you think DOOR might be a clockwise word, and MICRO might be a counterclockwise word, then you have an overlap with the letters RO. You would enter DOORCIM. And then you know that the next clockwise word has to start with CIM.
Once you find one pair of words like this, you can work back and forth to solve the entire ring.

First, look for any 4s, because all four squares around these must have squirt guns. Similarly, look for any 3s that have only three empty spaces or any 2s with only two empty spaces around them. You can fill these squirt guns in right away.
Now, draw lines out of each squirt gun in all four directions all the way until you reach a dead end. Since no two people can see each other, you know that no other squirt guns lie along any of these lines. Now that you have eliminated some spaces, go back to the first step and see if you can place any more squirtguns. Continue back and forth in this manner.

1) The first thing you can do is put an x into any square that is not adjacent to any nest, because no birds can stand here.
2) Start looking for any nests that only have 2 empty spots next to them because you know that these spaces must contain the parents for this nest.
3) Look in the rows and columns that have zeros on them and see if you have identified any places where a parent must go, because then you know it must be the opposite gender to the one that has the zero clue.
4) If any square has both a mama and papa bird next to it, then you can place an x in it because no other bird can go here.
5) Add up the mama and papa birds left in each row or column and count the number of empty spaces in that row/column. If the numbers are equal then you know that all the empty spaces must contain birds. Place a circle or some other mark here to let you know.
Return to step 2 and keep going.
